Yeah, played about and hour as captain... my old coach
Bauza is a pure class act, amazing touch, good shot on him and never gave the ball away - sign him up now!
Ejaastiasasas or whatever his name is was very skillful but poor in the air and first touch was a bit hit and miss. Would give him another look though
Dont have a clue who it was... but geezer on the left wing in the second half was the dogs, only looked about 15
no surprise that no-one (Golfie excepted) even bothered to mention McCormack. McCorcack on that performance. Stav did far better second half and I can only see this signing hindering the progress on one of our own. I know it's early but .... Was very impressed with Bauza and will be disappointed if we don't sign him, can't see us getting too much better on a freebie. Bejesus did ok too but would need to see him again. Sawyer failed to impress at all but Mulley, ex Hayes & Yeading, did well when he came on and worth a second look. Ross Worner, Woking, came on briefly in goal and dealt with a couple of awkward back passes well. Doherty looked solid. No surprise that Solly & Wagstaff worked well together down the right. Give me Waggy over Sam any day, so much more direct and purposeful and exceptional pace. I predict he's gonna be a major player for us this season. Racon, Basey, Llera, Jackson etc did ok. Of the kids - none are ready. All could do with a season out on loan and I include Mambo in that. Only exception is Stavrinou.
All in all not as such of a waste of time as I thought it would be. If Fortune signs and Bauza I'll be happy. Then just a keeper, RB, LM, LB (Basey),RM, CM and two more FWD.
[cite]Posted By: Swisdom[/cite]Keeper was kitteridge - just looked at a pic of him
oh ok. Just said on other thread that I thought I heard Basey call him Ross but must have been mistaken. Either way, IF you have him on trial surely you give him longer than 15 minutes unless you have absolutely no intention of signing him and he's just there in case of injury to Elliott and to make up the numbers in training but if so is that fair to the lad ??
An improvement on Saturday, but that's not a surprise.
On the trialists, Bauza looked useful again, best out of all of them. Esajas some good moments and some poor ones, but wouldn't write him off, most wingers are like that. Sawyer didn't impress me again, though he's not had much of a chance. A half in each game, played on the right and swapped to the left on Saturday, and tonight right midfield, then up front, then back to the right. Can't see us signing him.
Mulley similarly has been moved about a bit, has now played right back, right midfield and up front in just 2 halves of football. Might be something there, but it's hard to say. No idea what his best position is. Ketteridge nothing really stood out, much like Saturday. Was down the opposite end to him both times though, so harder to see.
Davisson is an interesting one, obviously not big or strong, doesn't seem to have real pace like Wagstaff either. Bit of a different type of player to the typical wingers and midfielders in League One, being a right footed player that plays on the left. Ran with the ball a bit more than Saturday, didn't always get it quite right, but seems like he's comfortable with the ball and has a decent football brain. Never been out on loan yet either like the other young pros have, will be interesting to see how his season turns out.
Tuna made a few mistakes and had a few poor touches, but put Mulley through with a nice pass. Looked like the first couple of mistakes effected his confidence a bit.
McCormack does remind me of Bailey, maybe that's because that's what I've read about him, but he does seem pretty similar. He'll battle and should give us something a bit different to Racon, Semedo and Jackson. Can see some fans liking him for that, and others a bit frustrated as he might give away the ball at times. Racon had his usual nice touches.
Stavrinou seems to be progressing fairly well, both games has tried to offer something going forward, when I've seen him before he's usually just done his job as a defensive midfielder.
Few decent moments from Jenkinson. Like Large said, they probably all need time out on loan. Regular football will surely be better for them than the odd appearance here and there for us.
Despite a poorish showing last night, and I wasn't a particular fan to start with, as Swisdom says, Tuna was in the right place etc. I thought that he was trying too hard to impress, and that's not a bad thing in my book.
Im going to have to bring my glasses for the first few games to link up the squad numbers on the programme to the numbers on their backs. Dont recognise anyone in that welling link.
Spanish fella looked a class act, sign him
Solly and Waggy linked up pretty well, Waggy looks like he's spent the summer in the gym and has certainly beefed up a bit
Fortune...would love to sign him again
Doc, solid as a rock
Jackson, wasted at LB however the fella with dreadlock in front of him did o.k, as mentioned above, some good and bad moments, not unusual for a winger
Racon, ran the midfield.
Tuna, couldn't trap a wet bag of cement !!, awful
...and special mention for the fella in the bright blue boots in the second half on the right, never seen him before and hope to god I never see him again in a charlton shirt, absolutely shocking!!!
Interesting he says you'd probably expect the first year pros (Mambo, Jenkinson, Davisson, Tuna and Perkins) to make an impact in about 18 months time. Wagstaff was a first year pro in 08/09 and started making an impact last season, so that sounds about right. Probably see them all go out on loan at some point this season.
Looking forward to seeing Jenkinson and Davisson go on loan, Jenkinson looked composed and solid against Wimbledon whilst Davisson although very raw has something about him that says he is one to watch. Doubt they will all make it at League 1 level or higher but there could be one or two who make an impact sooner rather than later.

the pink kit was brilliant
Very small but loves to dribble. As I said earlier - one for the future

When I heard those words I knew the season was up and running again.
Yes - I think we will play with a load of trialists and kids next season against non league opposition. Clearly we are doomed
IT'S A PRE SEASON FRIENDLY AND A KICKABOUT

Was nice to see the teams playing football for the most part.
Choice's camera work on his phone is better than whoever was doing that!
Kinsella talking about the game, the squad and the young players.

don't be daft we are going to be playing a load of kids and trialists against league opposition judging by our current squad,
our overall performance was awful last night
