This is my first post, had I been a day earlier, I was going to post my optimism that both our new signings had been given two year contracts, I would've speculated that the board had fixed their budget to only offer 1 year deals, but the fact that we've brought in 2 on two year deals, probably with bonuses and wage rises for promotion, suggested to me that there could be a little bit more in the pot than we thought, and that we'd be buying players rather than loaning again. Then we sold Richardson.........

So we sold Richardson. After we got over the shock, we found we got a better price than anyone on here thought he was worth.
He's not the first decent player the club has ever sold for a decent price, so we'll get over it.
When Lee Bowyer was sold, some of the money was invested back into augmenting the team - and we won promotion.
And after relegation, we sold Danny Mills, and some of the money was invested back into augmenting the team - hey, guess what?........ we won promotion! So history as well as me, can repeat itself, perhaps?
Okay, as everyone on here will tell you, I'm a rose-tinted. Anyway, I find life better that way.
Meanwhile, as you mention, we've signed the League One team and title winning centreback and one time international Gary Doherty. And an equally determined and tenacious player in midfielder Alan McCormack. The sum of the parts and all that....?
And there surely is more to come. See, being rose tinted makes every day a beautiful day!
)
We should do this more often
(I am rose tinted too)
Just remember whatever you've done, been, seen, got, think or do they'll be someone on here who did it first, knows more about it and does it better and you won't go far wrong ;-)
Stephen Hawking was on here the other day but left in a huff after [insert you own favourite Lifer 'know all' here] set him straight on his Theory of Everything.
We should never have sold Rob Lee. But we did; and improved.
Paul Konchesky. Likewise.
Dean Kiely.
Hales. Flanagan. Powell. (Chris and Colin).
Keith Peacock.
Paul Walsh.
The departure of each of these players was a heart-wrenching blow. And each time we moaned, trousered the profit, moved on, got better.
We're going to lose more players in the future. Some of them far, far better than Richardson and Bailey. But we'll buy (Doherty) and promote (Solly) better replacements.
Inch-by-inch, step-by-step, we'll improve. We'll play more "proper" Charlton players. And more players with the hunger and need to perform for themselves and for Charlton.
It's a long, slow, painful journey. But we're getting our Charlton back.
Put a sock in it, Shooters.
Although on second thoughts, you are our resident Guru.
Silly Fakir !
;o)
Me and Henry too.
That's all it takes to fit in here. You'll be fine.
And i bet every single person reading this said the same name in their head !!
LOL. Oh I don't know AFKA there's a few about that could fit that bill.
