So what's the next bombshell?

Racon to Palace?
Semedo to Brighton?
Dailly to Huddersfield?

I'm well fed up. Really brings home how in the poo we are. Takes away all the positives of the Doherty signing. Must be very tough for Parky. And all becuase Nicky Bailey can't take a penalty. Our luck must change soon, surely???

  • Someone to get injuried in training and be out for the season, no doubt.
  • Next bombshell will be a good one imo.

Or the Bailey deal falling through...

    Omar Pouso returns
  • its shocking to say the least i suppose we need the money that bad £1.6m for bailey £450k for Richardson PP still wont have a penny to spend on players i bet the board say the money for Richardson and thought well we didnt pay a fee for him Solly not good enough stil at the moment i think we will struggle next year
  • Won't be surprised if Dailly isn't here next season. Semedo and Racon (and Youga) I hope we can hold onto. If not we'll be building pretty much a new 11 and using whatever is left as squad players.
  • Did someone say Pouso???

    Yes -surely that's your job!!!
  • The guy who told me Southampton were keen on Richardson also told me he liked Semedo.

He was a former Charlton scout taken to Southampton by Pardew

    Next bombshell?

Well the Bailey deal has gone ominously quiet given all the chat a week or so back. I suspect Middlesbrough are metaphorically holding Mr Murray by the short and curlies as I write and saying they will give us something but nowhere near the amount reported.

Mr Murray will grin and bear it because we need the money, some money, any money.

Less than a million probably but will be reported as "undisclosed."

We can also kiss goodbye to Christian Dailly I reckon.

Doherty (?spelling) is this season's Dailly. The "name" player to convince the mug punters that we are going for promotion rather than hanging on for dear life.

I think that would finish off even the most loyal fans from having any semblance of hope that we would be competitive next season.

  • Semedo will be the next bombshell, convinced he will go- just really hope it is not to Southampton.
  • Wouldn't call Richardson to Saints a bombshell, think about it we are desperate for money Murray has said players will be sold they came in for a good offer had to be accepted i'm as annoyed as the next man but a realist at the same time we should get used to this type of news.
  • Chin up chaps. The board are planning on softening the blow by giving us all an exclusive glimps of the gussett of the
new kits' shorts. Check it out on the o/s tomorrow.
  • Well, that's alright then.
  • that new scratch and sniff web technology is pretty cool......
  • The new away kit.
  • Anyone who is expecting us to do anything other than struggle this season is utterly deluding themselves. We'll be very lucky to avoid being in or around the bottom six - we just don't have the side (or funds necessary to obtain players) to compete. I fully expect us to lose at least Burton and Daily (they'll be looking for two year deals) and any money we get from Bailey and Richardson will go on servicing the debt.

This isn't a pessimistic post - its a realistic one. We better get used to it and start getting behind the likes of Solly, Wagstaff, Tuna et. al, rather than coating them off when they inevitably make mistakes.

    COYR
  • Floyd the dog is actually a cross dressing cat!

I dont expect us to struggle, I expect us to collapse. If we exits as a club by the end of next season then I'll be happy.

its all a load of b
ks things at our great club are going pear shaped but one thing for sure i will be there next season unlike some of the shite that got us in this situation.we av 1 goalkeeper fking brilliant and he aint that good.
  • Everyone needs to calm down, we still own out ground + training ground don't we.

It'll still be Charlton who turn up for the first game and I for one will be supporting whatever team gets put out even if there are only 9 of them.

  • Have people forgotten how average the league was last year from about 12th and down. Imo we'll be 12th at worst. It's a poor poor league, as long as we have one player, any player who can get 20 goals or 2 who can get 10, or 3 who can get etc..... we'll be safe. The rest of the team can be 'average' league 1 players and that'll be enough. We've got a good league 1 keeper in Elliot, a good centre back in Doherty, an average centre back in Llera, a good full back in Youga, Semedo is a good midfielder, as is Racon and Sodje is an average striker.

We won't win the league, we'll probably crash the playoffs. Which is depressing but we are not as bad as many make out. Bodies will be bought in, end of the day we couldn't keep a squad of 30 odd players as we had been. There'll be 15 or so 'professionals', the rest will be kids
  • I've heard a rumour that WSS is a woman...
  • There is never a shortage of professional footballers and there are plenty around at the moment.

Parky has a great track record in picking out gems - we need him to find some more now.
  • 450k for Richardson was too good to turn down imo. Last year of his contract and we paid nought so really was a no brainer esp when we've had to pay Moo2 off to go, settlement for Waggott etc. What's worrying me now is as Len says are Boro now holding us to ransom over Bailey or is there a problem and the deal may be off. All speculation but it's worrying. I always thought that 1.4m was too good to be true so wouldnt surprise me to find out it's less. Only positive thought I have is would Docherty have signed if he knew Richardson was going and that we might not bring in some more decent players. He must have had other offers and surely he would only have signed if he thought we were going somewhere. After all he played for the League Champions last season. Unless he signed before the Richardson deal was mooted although it would seem that the purse strings have been loosened because of that transfer and not Bailey's. Another sobering thought is that if we can get Reid/Jackson for small or no fees then so can a number of other teams and at the moment they will be a more attractive proposition than us. Worrying times indeed.

till tesco's offer a bag of carrots a box of own brand low alchol larger and a twix..
  • Parky goes Southampton.

    Semedo goes Millsmall.

Rob Elliot gets England call up.

Curbs the messiah returns to save us all.
  • Rachel Riley replaced with Dawn French.
  • God, you lot are so pessimistic. Go out and get some fresh air.

Local paper in Middlesbrough apparently still reporting that certain people need to return from holiday to finish the paperwork. Hopefully that's all it is.

Jackson at least wants to come back to London, I'm sure he'd choose us over Dagenham and I don't see why not over Brentford or Leyton Orient.

    Edit: http://addickschampionshipdiary.blogspot.com/2010/07/exodus-continues.html

Wyn Grant's blog says Boro have staff out in South Africa.
  • One of the first team is discovered to be intersexed, and is suspended by the FA until they can decide on a set of medical tests to determine whether he is sufficiently male.
