I'm finding it a little difficult to keep track of who is out of contract and who is under contract. Can somebody please confirm that the under contract senior players are:

Elliott, Youga, Llera, Richardson, Solly, Semedo, Stavinrou, Racon, McLeod, Akpo.

And the players out of contract are:

Dailly, Burton, Sam, Wagstaff, Basey

Who have i missed?

Mambo, Jenkinson, Davisson, Tuna, Perkins all have pro contracts and may well be involved in the first team. Certainly in pre season and cup games.

You missed Sam Sodje for out of contract players btw

From the out of contract players I expect Burton & Sam to go, Basey & Waggy to stay...........jury's out on Dailly and Sodje (S)

If i'm right that means we have a nucleus of 12/14 senior pro's and 5 youngsters, of which only 1(Tuna) has had any first team experience and I don't expect to figure in the a starting 11 but may make the bench on occiasons.

This is a terrible state of affairs. To have any chance of competing for a top 6 spot we will need at least another 8 senior players............and I just don't think we can attract anyone.

    Not even Gary Doherty?

And there will certainly more players to come.

We can attract players, they just won't all be players we know much about like Doherty. We have out of contract players who haven't yet decided their futures, so will other clubs. Top 6 might end up being beyond us, but we will eventually sign some players.

And don't forget, invariably it's not the 11 players with the greatest ability that make your best team.
It's about finding balance in the side and players who are able to compliment each other.

So let's see who Parky signs and how that team blends together.
The sum of the parts .......and all that.

    We could be pleasantly surprised!

    Good post :-)

Let's look at Germany as a prime example........
and England as our last seasons example of us. ;-)

That's a bit of a myth to be honest though, plenty of Germany's players are better than ours. Yet some people still try and claim no Germans would get in the England team!

Still plenty of ins and outs to come. Should be an interesting few weeks. Dailly is number one priority in terms of the out of contract players. Lloyd Sam would also be hard to replace, but the others we could probably get away with cheaper alternatives.
