So what did those at the game make of him ?

He got peeled and lost his man a couple of times, but Drogba and Shevchenko is a major introduction, particularly with El Kak next to you. Think he has potential.

But those gloves though !! They wasn't even thin ones !!

He'll be playing with a duffel coat under his shirt come December

I though he and el kak had a decent game- Drogba and Shevchenko are a class act and although Diawara can only have been bought as a first choice C/B i cant see El Kak in that role.

Portsmouth will be a more realistic tester. Looking forward already!

I thought he did ok, definite potential there.

I came out of the ground on Saturday optimistic about about the way we played and the future but looking at the next few games with the injuries we have you have to feel a bit sorry for Dowie.

The team are playing the right way and were unlucky not to get a point but Pompey and Villa are both in cracking form and you cant really expect much out of Arsenal.
