I wish i knew..... i live for the days when we win, its the best feeling in the world, when the fans are in full voice (play off vs Swindon a prime example) there is no place on earth i would rather be.....thanks god the future Mrs Finch is not on this site!
The superb, reasonably priced beer, served in the club's monogrammed waterford crystal pint glasses...
Seriously, I like everything about matchday - I almost always go with a positive attitude - even when we're 2-0 down with 10 minutes to go I am still hoping for a 3-2 win or at least a draw. Sadly, there have been times during recent seasons when this attitude has been sorely tested - when the team has not shown the same spirit and it is dishheartening - it's one of the reasons why I have not renewed my season ticket, although I still plan to go to the majority of the matches.
Just before kick-off, I look around the ground and and see thousands of people, most of whom are strangers to each other, sharing a common cause and united in their hopes. I think about the countless others who were there before and those who will be there in the future, all united to those of us there on the day.
I see my family, past and present, and realise that Charlton is an extension of the family for most of us. It's what we talk about when we are together and it drives many of our actions. I love that it's part of us... and that we are part of it.
