As of 3 weeks ago I have taken over managing the junior reds Valiants (under 9's).
Its always hard to judge these things but we have a reasonable team, we've lost a couple opf players to academies so we're looking to recruit 3 new players to finish our squad for the coming season (25 minutes each way, instant knackered 9 year olds!)
If anyone out there has a son, or daughter (we have one girl playing for us already, toughest player in the team) born between Sept 01 and July 02 and fancies bringing them down for a trial, we train at Bexleyheath school on Saturday mornings 9.30am - 11am. In terms of standard. most of the team reached level 5 on the charlton challenge scheme, enthusiasm the most important, anyone who can score 30 yard free kicks especially welcome!
The primary focus is for the kids to have fun, play with a bit of freedom and enjoy themselves. I find if you achieve that you win a few games as well.
