stewards

edited January 2007 in General Charlton
does anyone else find the stewards at the top of the stairs in the north upper a complete hazard themselves?

the half time whistle goes. people try to get down the stairs, cue 2 idiots having a chat in their massive "steward" jackets, causing more obstruction than ensuring 'safety'

at the final whistle on saturday everyone left, and the 2 stewards standing at the top of the stairs, one is standing sideways, so taking up more room, and causeing a blockage, and the other one, is trying to roll up a fag with a rizla and a baccy pouch!

what a pair of jobsworth! can't he wait 5 mins till everyone's out? surely they are there to assist with a swift exit of all fans? standing there getting in the way is surely not in their job description?

the poor kids and elderly people that have to get shoved down those stairs and jostled out is not helped by their lack of awareness

  • I think that you will find that the rizla was actually a map of how to get out of the ground, and his partner was pointing out that he had the map held upside down.
  • The ones between H & J block are always pulling you up if your in a Isle seat to not step into the stairway area. If anyone misbehaves they send for the guy who has been dubbed 'Moses' by the ultras as he manages to always part the fans either side of the stairway like the sea!
