  • [cite]Posted By: Oakster[/cite]i only said that Arf cos it appears he might be off to Portsmouth - i think he has potential, but the gap between where he is now & where he needs to be is costing us

in hindsight letting Perry go was a mistake

At least nobody can blame Curbs for that!
  • Injuries, bad decisions, bad luck. We can blame them all, but the fact of the matter is that we are simply not good enough. Most players are now at least putting in the effort, but for me today is the day we got relegated. Painful though it is, we need to use this transfer window to get the best price we can for our assets and use the money to build a squad for next season.

I thought we did OK today but we simply have no attacking nous.
  • Exactly. We're never going to dominate other teams. Just need to make the most of the periods of the game when we're on top (ie score).

I think there may be a few that are playing for their contracts now.
  • If we're paying the money the press say we're paying, I don't think the players will be bothered. We can't pay £20k - £30k in the Championship, so they'll be off to get their money elsewhere.
  • But who will have them? I don't see a big queue forming do you? Bent apart who would you sign? Maybe Reid?
  • RELEGATED -

Now I have got that off my chest we played OK today but had no luck andmade simple mistakes.

D Bent is off. Thanks for an extra season in the Prem.

The rest I would all imagine have a CCC thing written in their contracts so thei £30K a week is going to get a lot less I hope..

We need to buy the best of English League has to offer with a couple of the others thrown in.
  • I feel for our defense, they get a bad press, today they played reasonably well, Diawara really well, especially considering that our very weak midfield (Andy Reid excepted) offer no real cover, usually surrendering territory deep into our half of the field. The midfield are not totally to blame since they are stretched by a static forward line of mercenaries just going through the motions!!! We need to get back to an all inclusive type of team play that used to be so typical of the Charlton. No superstars please, just good, mobile and committed team players.
