A few have jumped out as being possibles, notably Leon Clarke, Jay McEvily, Gary Teale and of course Akpo Sodje will more than likely be a free agent. Depends what league we are in I guess.
[cite]Posted By: Oakster[/cite]sadly I think the decent ones will end up being bought by the relegated clubs that get the parachute payment from the Prem.
The parachute payments to Portsmouth & Hull, will be swallowed in a heartbeat.
Burnley will be the most 'attractive' of the 3, in a financial sense. Their chairman has already gone on record saying they are under no pressure to sell, & that they will have the biggest budget in the league.
Could be a Charlton-like scenario, a'la '98-00. Team up through play-offs, relegated, then bounce back stronger.
Whether Brian Laws is up to that job is anyones guess though.
Hull may hedge their bets, & go all out for promotion in the 1st instance, & attempt to retain their key players to do so.
But, their chairman has said they are in the £££ crapper, & that they may have to sell to survive.
As for Pompey, if they survive in any way, shape, or form, by the end of next season, it will be a miracle!

[cite]Posted By: Richard J[/cite]Sean Thornton at Leyton Orient might be worth a punt if we lost Bailey and Semedo and were still in League One. I was surprised the O's released him
he wants to move back up north to nearer his family.
as for Iwelumo, I think there's a good chance of us resigning him, even if we don't got promoted. Him and Parky are good mates. It was Parky was told pardew to sign him and also fought hard against him being sold to wolves.

Got to be on a fair wedge tho (even if it is only a mid-to-high Championship salary) so surely he won't drop down to League 1. I imagine him joining a QPR, Cardiff if they don't go up. We might have a chance if we get promoted though
Six senior players were axed by Alan Irvine last night as the Sheffield Wednesday manager cleared the decks for a major rebuilding operation.
As expected, Francis Jeffers was the biggest name on the list of those not offered fresh terms.
The others leaving are Leon Clarke, Michael Gray, Etienne Esajas, Frank Simek and Sean McAllister.
Jeffers, Clarke and Gray were among the club's top earners, making it no surprise that they have been released.
Not saying their decent, 3 have been released because of their wages, other three must have been released for a good reason.
Surprised Frank Simek has been released. He was one of their big stars a few years back. Former Arsenal trainee who I think is a USA international. Pretty sure he was voted player of the year at Wednesday too.

Must have suffered with injuries??

Especially with Lloyd out of contract, good experienced Pro is Teale and would also help Waggy with his development.
If we are promoted he may well do so, I guess if we go up it could be a choice between Akpo and Iwelumo for the 'big' striker role.
Hull won't be able to afford to do that...
lets see what league we are in then look at possibilities, hopefully parky is looking now still though
These two
Edit for FAIL
