  • we ain't robins, we're addicks
  • we have the red red robin song, that has beed crudely mocked by millwall fans over the passing years to much shock and anger amongst our band of merry followers

Just done my research on why/how the robins nickname came about....it didn't say....just that you re-claimed the addick nickname after going to Selhurst.

Strange though that if you've reverted back to your original nickname, why have you kept the badge from a competition to go along with the nickname 'valiants'?

What were the original badges from when you were formed etc?
  • [cite]Posted By: rocking robin[/cite]I thought you were the robins as well ?

Robins is one of the nicknames we've had; hence coming out to the red, red robin song.
Kind of got dropped when addicks came back in fashion in the 90's

Long story sparrow but all to do with a local fishmonger who put a haddock on a stick
  • we love it better than that camp let em come palarva
  • [cite]Posted By: rocking robin[/cite]What other nicknames have you had

The 'nummers' ... short for 'nummeroneinsarflondon'

    ;-)
  • Yeah read about the fishmonger who gave the team free haddock!

Just wondering what the original badges were and how comes you didn't revert back to one of the original badges rather than the valiant one.

Valiants was the winning entry in a competition to change the nickname in the 60's.
The new nickname didn't catch on but the distinctive sword badge has stod the test of time being considerably better than previous efforts.

Couldn't really get a distinctive crest out of a haddock could you?
