Save of the Sentry

edited May 2010 in General Charlton
Unbelievable save from Randolph today. Struggling to remember a better one one from a charlton custodian, ever...

Any ideas/ Nicky Johns in the 1-1 with Chelsea (Carl Harris).

Dean Kiely made some crackers didn't he?

Comments

  • the way he got it over the bar from such a low start was incredble..... totally amazing... I was/am so delighted ......

Great save, don't know how he managed to get it over the bar. He was on his line and the ball was moving so fast.
  • dean kiely made a similar reflex one at birmingham in a live monday night game i think
and bob bolder on new years day at old trafford made a great reflex stop from a bryan robson header(i think) and robbo was aready starting his celebration when bob clawed it out
  • great save, terrible pun

    ; - )
  • Just watched the game again on the football league show what a game and what a save
the power that the header had made it even better it was the best save ive seen from him and definatley strengthens his place in the squad. He made a couple of really good saves yesterday. I like robbo so want to see him do well but i think darren has eclipsed him for a long time yet.
  • Just as well Randolph was on guard!!!!!
  • Tipped it over with military precision and inspired the team to keep soldiering on.

Didn't think he'd reach it at first but luckily he's got pretty long armies.
  • Awesome save. As good as Kiely's - but not quite as good as Skippy's save against Palace

LOL ........And the rest of the lads battled well.

2nd'd. The Petterson one is probably the best I have ever seen at a Charlton game.

Remember Kiely making a binder at Stockport and Bolder making a load on a live game at Wolves. Think Bolder got man of the match and coined the phrase "win or loose on the booze".

  • Stephan Andersen made a really good one against Chelsea when they got the title but Pettersons has to be the best.
  • Andersens v Man Utd in 2005 from Alan Smith was similar to Randolphs yesterday, fantastic reaction and strong palm to get the ball up and over the bar.

Deano's v Brum though are my faves, there were two in particular from headers (Duggary and Forsell headers I think). Also the Deano one from Les Ferdinand in 2000 was also up there.
  • I've missed half a dozen games recently while on hol in America (and then while stranded there), but it seems to me Randoplh has made a late bid for player of the season.

Since he took over from Elliot for the second half v Gils, I make that just four goals he's conceded in 765 mins of football.

    Take a bow, DR...
  • Petterson's against Palace was amazing.

But Randolfs was the best in recent years
  • Great save but still yet to see better than Dean Kiely away to Birmingham.
