We need a miracle, but stranger things on football have happened.
It has been said our season has been not to dismilar to Notts Forest two seasons ago, they did not have the most consistent of seasons and perhaps flattered to deceive but went up on the last day when they needed other results to go for them.
Everyone reckoned that Charlton had a really tough run-in, the hardest of any of the top 8 clubs.
But in our last 8 matches, we've won 4, drawn 2, and against Saints and Norwich unluckily lost 2 = 14 points.
Even though our goalscoring hasn't been great, with not more than 1 scored in any game ......... we've not conceded more than a single goal - plus 4 clean sheets.
Step forward Darren Randolph, you've evidently made a difference (maybe Borrowdale too?).

For once Oggy, I find myself agreeing with you! :-)

The odds of all the results going our way next weekend are 24/1
So? If you'd listened to some people we'd have been out of it by the end of today, but we're not. While we've still got a chance let's revel in it.
I know - I didn't say the odds were zero. Just pointing out a fact i thought was interesting and relevant
Very relevant but I think you will all be able to get double that.
We will be at least Evens (you can get 2.3 on Betfair right now but it will shorten once people realise the impllications of the result), Rovers will be 6/1 plus (because they have nothing to play for and Bookies won't take a penny for them) and the draw in the other match will be available at 5/2 because the draw is likely to favour neither side.
So, if you think approximately 50/1 is value and you want the double bubble of promotion and money for a pre season holiday, then fill your boots.
I think that we need to win just to finish 3rd or 4th. That way you play the first leg away and second leg at home which is a major advantage I think, especially if it goes to extra time . The situation is unlike the Champions League as there is no silly away goals rule. Not to mention the fact that in previous play-offs we've won twice as one of the top two teams and lost as one of the bottom two.
If we go with the attitude of needing to win to get a beneficial play-off place then the pressure is not very great. Leeds and the others will be more desperate and if we're lucky then we could pull off a 24-1 shot. After all, it happened just last week in New York:

If we win and don't go up we're in good shape for the play=off's

Afleet Again 24-1, New York race
then again the pessimistic side of me thinks that all the results will go our way, but we go and cock it up by losing.
