  • great stuff PBS, we'll make sure over the summer we find a proper outlet for this and other things.
  • Pic no.3, back of the real Covered End ... superb!
  • oo yes think pic 3 defo the most thought provoking some good memories and bad of that bar and those steps up to the Covered End from the 70s
  • Top - The Valley
    Bottom - The Valley

Do I win the 10 points?

Great pics, as AFKA says need to be stored somewhere.

    Wasn't the Valley club shabby?
  • Fond memories of being dragged down the stairs at the back of the covered end against Pompey... lol. Great pics mate...we ought to try and organise a photo archive

Love the pic of the players and directors entrance - looks like the door to a shaddy backstreet brothel.
  • Shouldn't these go in the "Pic's" section of the site? It's a brilliant collection, be a shame to see them die into thread wilderness. Although saying that I'm not sure how many people actually use the Pic's section.
  • fantastic pics, well done. looks like early 70's from the clothes//cars. its a good job Chelsea fans burnt down the valley club soon after, it does look pokey. A lot of the pics make it look really derelict, but I guess that was the norm in the 70's as I dont remember it like that. Although it is clear that Mr G and family have been keeping their hands firmly in their pockets for some time.

Ha, forgot to add the "... I imagine."

To be fair, the only brothel I've ever knowingly seen is Bunnys Massage Parlour (formerly 'Cuddles') on the Hagley Rd heading into Brum and that has a massive steel door, iron grills on the windows and a video entry system so the old players entrance is actually down-market looking compared to a brothel. More like a crack den perhaps.
  • Post No 6: Lennie Lawrence, Killer and Alan Simonsen.

Post 21 is looking straight at where I used to stand in the late 70s and early 80s.

    Great memories.

    Thanks for this thread.
