How do you get back to the main forum page after posting without going back to the home page and then opening the forum in a new window cos if you cant its really annoying

Thanks mate. Just worked that out!

Typical bloke didnt read the instructions!!!
  • Not sure I follow (this could get confusing!. The link from Charlton Life.com to the Forum opens a new window (which may not be ideal and can be change, I just thought I'd differentiate the two in that way), but after posting, it should automatically take you back to the main forum page, which is the Discussion page. It shouldn't take you to Charlton Life.com, though.

Not seeming as though Im making myself at home in your front room the moment Ive walked through the door, but IMO it would be easier to navigate (and less obvious to peoples collegaues etc) if it didnt open a new window but instead used one window.

Not too sure what other peoples thoughts are??
  • Ok, feedback appreciated. You are right. Forcing new windows to open is often frowned upon by web design gurus and users can always choose to open links in new windows themselves. I was looking for a way to differentiate the two, because they are different sites within a collective frame, but perhaps that's not necessary. I'll find a way to make going back and forth easier and more intuitive. We'll find our feet as we go.

    Thanks.
  • Any views on opening windows in Windows 7?

    Yo! Broke the previous record...

    Where's my coat........
