Against you, when he kept a clean sheet?[/quote]
Backpass goes to Warner...followed by airshot....another airshot....Izale McLeod comes bundling in.....airshot....ball slides past Warner, who brings down McLeod.........the referee (one Stuart Atwell) waves play on.
If it wasn't for the fact that Izale McLeod couldn't stand up and swing his right leg at the same time, he'd have made Warner look like a complete pillock, which isn't difficult. Well, unless you're Izale McLeod. I mean come on.......what sort of mughouse would spend a million on that, I ask you?
You're welcome to him. I'd rather have Tony the Tiger.
I thought he was a very good keeper for us all those years ago. Liable to a few errors now & again and his kicking was a little suspect at times, but overall a fantastic shot stopper and did a good job.
Whether he is sharp enough nowadays to play week in week out I'm not sure. But he has experience and as back up he is ok.
[cite]Posted By: nolly[/cite]i would wager groucho is very happy warner is not going to millwall.....delighted in fact.
actually I don't doubt he is in all seriousness, however had they just signed him ahead of us then I'm sure this thread would read very differently !.....cue all the cries of Denzil etc.
I think he's better than anything we've currently got.
Groucho - if you'd signed him yesterday (as was rumoured on a couple of your sites) you'd have been fairly pleased with him as back up and no doubt praised Kenny Jackett for signing a Millwall old boy. A day later we sign him and suddenly he's the worst keeper since Massimo Taibi.
No one is saying he's Buffon but we need cheap back up and that's what he is.
definately...never really been convinced by either Elliott or Randy, I agree he can be a bit of a 'David James' but one thing he does have going for him is his size and presence in the area, something both our current keepers currently lack.
says in his write up he's an expert penalty saver. Long term planning by parky - penalty shoot out at wembley ? who against ? saves againgst wall to send us up! ok i'll wake up now

No, i'd still think that his best was behind him, and would've wondered why we'd need him in light of what we've already got. Just another waste of wages that we could've spent on a winger....which I think weare in more need of. Not saying i would've agreed with him signing at all, but I guess i'd have to trust Jacketts judgement.
Don't doubt that he is not the best otherwise he would be not be available on a free to a league 1 club, but he did well for FOOLham a few years back and keepers are the only position that players continue to improve once they are past 30.

What are the 'poor mans David James' comparisons all about? David James is a brilliant keeper. His calamitous spell at Liverpool was a bloody long time ago now!
Don't get me wrong, he's a character. And no doubt he'd be good to have around the squad. But i'd not fancy having to play him for a prolonged period, especially at this time of the season.
Ah the young Premier League player route, how did he do at Southend? Seems Parky prefers experienced players on loan, but with strikers and wingers these sort of players might be a better option.
Leeds situation just reminds me of Pardew when he was here. When things go wrong, make another loan signing. They already have 3 very decent wingers for this level in Snodgrass, Gradel and McSheffrey.

Lets hope they end the season exactly like a Pardew side then!
At least this season we're making loans because we actually need them (ie. a keeper, left back, striker etc), Leeds seem to be making them in the hope they turn things round for them.

Yeah even when the quality isn't what we'd like, you can understand why they were here. No more pointless loans like Soares and Scott Sinclair.

I'm heartbroken. No, really.
I'm quite happy that we had him for his best years thanks.

I'm not sure if Stu's available?
Squad number 40
