hello

edited March 2010 in General Charlton
good evening.

at the risk of sounding like a div....what's the score re pubs at your place these days ? are there traditional oppo / away boozers ?

obviously, having not been to the valley for so long, i have no idea what to expect. and rather than risk wasting our time, should we plan on having a good gatter locally and on the train.

fank you.

    You didn't say hello
  • tar, mate.

    any good ?

no 'travellers will not be served' signs on the jump, i take it ?
  • what WSS said

though if you are taking fairly decent numbers, which I assume you are, you might prefer to drink locally and hop on the train with a few cans as it can get absolutely rammed in there
  • hmm, that's what i feared.

drink outside, or is that a no-goer ?
  • Anti is the away pub, 50yds from station and takes a few hundred. Perfect away pub really. Shame were not allowed in it
  • And remember we only drink Bollinger in Charlton - you won't find any super tennents around our way

We were on Saturday just gone. Was pretty good as well!

Not allowed outside for anything, OB get jumpy if too many are out having a fag/on the phone at once!

Normally we suggest drinking in town or in Greenwich but obviously that's pointless as you're coming from the other way... if you can't be bothered with a sweat-fest I'd stay closer to home to be honest as there isn't much else around that won't be fairly full
  • i doubt we'll be asking for any champagne to be put on ice at 5.00, but you never know....

  • Just follow the smell of burning tyres...
  • hate sweat-fests. and all that poxy football singing mullarky. breakfast and guinness in sunny chaytham, i reckon, and catch the 1.30 rattler.
  • are you all the crowd that used rivals previously ? if so, is DA1 still about ?

a lot will be on here yes.

Know who you are refferring to, no he doesn't.
  • Anyway shouldn't you be getting some sleep? Surely you've got a drive to tarmac in the morning
  • that's a shame. he was a very amusing chap.

just reading the threads about your day out at the slumdogs. we have a reasonable record there, but if it makes you feel any better, they beat us on golden-goal in the mickey mouse cup thing a few years ago, on a tuesday night, weren't allowed out the ground until 11 oclock.....for our own safety, of course. f ck me, that was a painful experience
  • tarmacing is so passe, uncle. fake international currency laundering and selling roadkill in bluewater carpark are the games to be in now, mate.

lol, you've already took more of a liking than a few of the 'slumdog' lot.

look forward to your first away win on sat lordpikey, we're gifting these out. :-)

    Greetings your Lordship.

Whereabouts do you lot hang out now following the demise of rivals?

Ha ha ha i like it!

I would have no fear about coming to our place, you can't win at Stockport but i'm sure you're more than capable of nicking a 1-0 at our place.

What are your thoughts on Dickson since he returned to you?
  • Hello Lord Pikey. How many are you bringing - will the Anti really be that full? it is a big old boozer.

Rose of Denmark on the lower road also accepts away fans i think.

You could also go two extra stops up to Maze Hill. Plenty of pubs round there to drink - takes about 6 extra mins on the train. Vanbrugh Tavern, Plume of Feathers. bit posh tho you might not fancy them.

    Ill send DA1 your regards.
  • My Lord...is that utter tit head bishbosh still around?
  • how do.

looking forward to the game. i can't see us getting 3pts, what with our rank bad away form. draw, hopefully. of course it would be great to get our first away win at yours, but if not, i'm happy to be patient and wait till we play at the slumdogs next month.

ain't seen a lot of dickson. we have stuck with jackson and our other loanee, rene howe from peterborough. will he be allowed to be sub on saturday ?? surely not ??

most of our lot drifted apart after rivals. various reasons - work, marriage, prison, dead, etc. a lot now use fansonline, decent fellows most of them, but they tend to talk about nothing other than gillingham f ckin football club, which i can't be a rsed to do.

i couldn't possibly comment as to which of the above categories bishbosh falls into.
  • curb it - sorry, should have added, not sure 3,000 i think. most were sold by last weekend, so i'm sure they will all be gone by friday. & cheers, but i think it's the clarendon and train for my lot. the old in-and-out, in-and-out.
  • Rose of Denmark is good for home & away supporters. Nice place for both groups to mix.
If you wear your team shirts, you might even get your picture taken to go on the away fans display on the wall.
  • will the good lady sovereign be accompanying you to the game? if so, you might like to treat her to a McDonalds happy meal down on the peninsular park road
  • There's a nice big pedestrian barrier by the away end so you can all chain your staffs there for the 90 mins..
  • What is the deal with you lot calling yourselves pikey army and the gypsy association?

My best mate is Gillingham through and through and he hates it.
