i still feel totally deflated this morning, i think the only time iv seen us win was the snow match in 95. even in the 80s i remember seeing us chuck away a 2 nil lead with only injury time left to play
I remember that game Choice. To be fair though KBLS, over the years our record is absolutely piss poor against them. Statistically, I believe its our worse record against any team that we have played more than a handful of games against except maybe Manure or the Arse. The irony is that much of the time we have been in a higher league than them and have played them in the league only occasionally.
I have seen us beat them on one or two occasions but normally we are total bottle jobs. Ask me why? Well its that we are a real scalp for them and on a hiding to nothing when we play them. It was ever thus. Should we be able to counter that? Yes absolutely. The only manager that did was Curbs.
Reminds me of times back in the 70s and 80s. What about that home "performance" when we lost 4-1 or 4-2, when Phil Walker tore us to shreds? It's Millwall. It was to be expected. Let's get over it and move on.
Having watched 41 minutes of head tennis, i text my Millwall mate 'wake me up when something happens', and 30 seconds later they scored. If i wasn't tight i would have smashed my mobile to pieces.
I'm with you little sis - I missed the 2-0 win in the snow and have never seen us beat them away - the 2-2 draw in 88(?) even felt like a defeat as we were 2-0 up with 5 mins to go !
Problem is, we are very much likely to get them in the play-offs..............unless we finish 7th or 8th or they finish 2nd !
[cite]Posted By: KBslittlesis[/cite]In all my years i have NEVER seen us beat the spanners. So i will do you all a favour & stay well away. Am still angry!
I've never seen us beat them either and I didn't go on Saturday (
in the grand scheme of things it is definitely my fault, I left for Canada after watching us draw at home to Fulham in October 2005 - we had a very healthy 16 points out of 24, were in the top 5 of the Premiership, still in the League Cup, Curbs in charge, 100% away record.........as soon as I left
we then lost 6 our following 7 league games
ended up in lower mid table mediocrity
Curbs quit
appointed Dowie
signed Amdy Faye
appointed Dowie's inept assistant
appointed Pardew
got relegated
finished mid table mediocrity after being 5th most of the season
started next season like a Division 1 side
Zabeel didn't happen
fired Pardew
hired his inept assistant
ended up a Division 1 side
didnt fire the inept assistant
lost to Northwich on live TV
somehow 3rd but for how much longer
lost to Millwall
Blimey Oakster Oct 2005? That's when I got the tin tack from the Mic' job at the Valley. Could be just coincidence of course but what else changed and started our demise in OCT 05 apart from you leaving and me, ahem, departing :-)
[cite]Posted By: paulbaconsarnie[/cite]it's no-ones fault.
we hardly ever turn up for these matches.
just glad i wasn't around for the 1928 or 1931 maulings.
Charlton Athletic wins 12
Millwall wins 31
Draws 23
Sat there at the end of the game and remembered sitting there next to my millwall season ticket holding mate when we trounced them 4-1 in the pre season a few years back and recalled how i actually felt sorry for him at the end of it and admired his loyalty for watching a team at that level home and away week in week out.
Can I offer an outsiders (optomists) point of view: With your facilities/set-up/fan base, you are at worst a Championship side and at your best (as proved) a Premiership side - but as every club, you require a manager that can coach, motivate and have good connections. Keep the faith - you could be having away days at Portsmouth & Hull next season!

I see - so it was nothing to do with us playing shocking in the 2nd half last Saturday, we were basically beaten 'cos its tradition! We're not meant to win, we can't beat history! I feel better about losing now.......;-)

We could play them twice more in the play off semi's or god forbid meet them in the final at Wembley.

I wouldn't bother ali!!
I have been back for 4 games & we have lost 3 of them, including Palace away :-(
If you want to club together & buy me a nice house so i can take up residence again in London, that might do the trick!
Could be just coincidence of course but what else changed and started our demise in OCT 05 apart from you leaving and me, ahem, departing :-)
that makes very sorry reading. thanks for posting it
Life dont half bite you on the arse sometimes!

It's not your fault you have never seen us win against them or have you?
