Too early for me to do it for the rest of the season (edit). I did it up to the end of March in the past weekend. Had us in third, two points behind Leeds having played the same number of games, and a couple of points ahead of Colchester.
  • CAFC 92
    NCFC 91

not worth putting any more shows the bias that went into it ;o)
  • [cite]Posted By: Richard J[/cite]I know its that time of year because I've just done the BBC predictor.

You can discount Charlton ( I cannot be rational about us ). I had us second on 95 points . Norwich on 99 and Leeds on 93.

    Colchester 89
    Swindon83
    Millwall 79

    Huddersfield 73
    Southampton 72 ( worryingly )

A couple of things surprised me Saints could break from the lower pack Pardew certainly has a bigger squad than any of his rivals and next season they will be very competitive and we may need more than 75 points to make the play offs . I'd previusly believed 75 would be enough and that four wins out of twelve games would see us home

At the other end Wycombe survive on 41 points and Hartlepool , Gillingham , Tranmere and Stockport fall , which does not feel accurate.
  • 1. Norwich - 95pts
    2. Charlton - 90pts

    3. Leeds - 89pts
    4. Huddersfield - 86pts
    5. Swindon - 85pts
    6. Colchester - 85pts

    7. Millwall - 81pts
    8. Southampton - 74pts
    9. MK Dons - 66pts

    18. Hartlepool - 46pts
    19. Tranmere - 45pts
    20. Exeter - 44pts

    21. Gillingham - 43pts
    22. Wycombe - 38pts
    23. Oldham - 37pts
    24. Stockport - 29pts
  • Hadn't realised that Leeds still had to face Norwich ... interesting
  • I'll settle for that, callumcafc

We all have to face each other.
  • So as i read it so far 12 games to play max 36 points plus 63 points we already have = 99 points max. The lowest estimate is 89 points thats us only dropping 10 points between now and the end of the season.Wake up open your eyes we will not reach that lowest target.

So would I. It was dependant on Bristol Rovers going to Elland Road and taking a point, but on the other hand I put Charlton vs Leeds down as a 2-2 draw.

Someone is going to go on a brilliant run and why can't it be us? A lot of top 7 teams have each other to play before the season is over. Still all to play for.

Why it will not be us Millwall,Huddersfield and Southampton away the 3 teams have only lost 3 home games between them all season. Will drop 2 points at home against Leeds or Norwich. However i expect Charlton to make the play offs but it will be a rough ride.

One game at a time. On our day we're as good as anyone in this league.

It's not that we're going to pick up maximum points from those games, but if we go into each one with confidence there's no reason why we couldn't pick up the ~27 points required.
  • i had us down to beat norwich at home, based on the fact we deserved to at theirs and previous years have good record against them
millwall away put us to win 2-1 although this is probably heart over head momment
    draw against southampton & leeds
and someone else, unfortunatley is bias on my part but have tried to be as honest as possible

looking at others fixtures think we may have the better draw still if anyone but close to call
  • edited March 2010
Can't be bothered to do all the results for every game between now and the end of the season but we'll have 84 points.

Haha - ya spotted that huh? f***ed if I'm going back to do it all again - Had that down as a Brighton win anyway - they were f***ing great against us the other week and I think Poyet will get them well, well away from trouble. If not - f*** it, they get in the playoffs at the expense of Swindon

as most have said it is a fantasy football prediction how anyone can make sensible predictions when you are talking about your own team and the teams you dont like.

    loosen up

its all a bit of fun mate and people like myself will try to be honest, but agreed probably not sensible with yout own team involved. still i thought be good to see peoples predictions, maybe we can see end of season see how accurate they are

  • I just did till end of March and we were down to 4th plus Southampton had the best GD in the div! HAd us one point behind Swindon, 3 off Leeds and 8 off Norwich with all teams having played the same number of games. 5 points ahead of Millwall in 7th and 13 ahead of Southampton in 9th (but they have a game in hand).

TBH if my prediction came true (and it won't!), then I would probably be happy enough with that, within a win of the top 2 and still 5 points clear in the play offs with only 8 games left!
  • So the target for the play offs is about 80 points plus......
Think we will make that, but that is all.
  • I lost the table I predicted when I tried copying and pasting it. However, I got us finishing second on 82 points with 6 wins (including Leeds and Colchester), 3 draws and 2 losses. I wonder whether that would be enough in reality?
  • Even after this weeks results I feel less confident about my Huddersfield and Swindon predictions. Shows you just how quickly things can turn around in supporters minds.
  • Just done it again for this season . If you look above I was way off last season and tend to be hopelessly optimistic about the Addicks . Orient and Wednesday could be dark horses . Bournemouth and MK should also be in the mix .

    1 Brighton 88 pts
    2 Charlton 79 pts
    3 Sheff Wed 78 pts
    4 Hudders 77pts
    5 Saints 76 pts
    6 P'boro 76 pts
    7 Leyton 72pts
    8 Bournemouth 71 pts
    9 MK 69 pts
    10 Brentford 64 pts

    21 Swindon 44pts
    22 Plymouth 42pts
    23 Rovers 41pts
    24 Daggers 40 pts
  • I done this in the week, I had Charlton 6th.

    1 - Brighton
    2 - Huddersfield
    3 - Southampton
    4 - Posh
    5 - Bournemouth
    6 - CAFc
  • 1. Brighton - 90

    5. Peterborough -77
    6. Charlton - 74
    7. MK Dons -72
    8. Colchester - 70
    9. Exeter - 70
    10. Sheffield Wed - 67
    11. Leyton Orient - 66
    12. Hartlepool - 65
  • On form so far this season we come in at 71 points (if my mental arithmetic is ok), which would have put us 8th last season...:o(
  • edited February 2011
And using the predictor we come in with 79 points...not enough last season, but this season who knows?
