I know this is not Charlton related, but if you get the chance pop over the channel and visit the war graves, We went to Fromelles for the burial of soldiers from the Battle of Pheasant Wood, July 1916, deeply moving and something kids and adults alike should see

    Trips like this should be encouraged by schools in my opinion. We owe so much to those who gave their lives.

    Agreed the kids with us spoke to some old veterans and were talking about it the whole thing all evening when we got back to where we were staying, having visited various War Graves throughout the Somme to see a burial is rare and very very moving.
