Dirty Trollop

edited February 2010 in General Charlton
Sorry I don't have a vid for this, but in the post match on Sky he was asked if he asked his players to "get stuck into Charlton early on". Fans of lie to me would (like me) have been reaching for the freeze frame.

Uncomfortable look.
Pursed lips.
Look away
Close Eyes.
Think about answer.
DENY DENY DENY

He definitely did, despite the fibs that came out of his mouth. I doubt he wanted one of his crew to potentially end a young players career, but I'm fairly sure that he encouraged a feisty start against us (we're a team that gets easily knocked off our stride early on).

  • lol....what a thread title
  • you are right he definitely looked shifty and paused before the cliche of 'his not that type of player' bollox came out of his gob....

every manager will say the same before any game (or at least should), on a sunday morning we are told to 'get stuck in early doors' and 'let them know you are there'...doesn't mean to say break his leg and I'm sure he didn't mean for that to happen, but nothing wrong with a few early 'robust' challanges.....just that the Rovers guy went way over the top and should've been sent off for it.
  • Obviously, but there are degrees, and a manager can direct his team to be especially physical above and beyond the usual old "get into them, we can beat them" ra-ra cheerleading. I'm suggesting that Trollop (from his reaction) may well have instructed his team to leave the foot in a bit early on, with disastrous consequences. There is something wrong with a few robust challenges if they snap somebody's leg.
  • on mort's conspiracy theory , right at the beginning of the sky coverage parky was standing by the tunnel and trollop ran straight past him with the rovers players and blanked him ..... he couldn't even look parky in the eye there , i thought it was a bit rude
