You're probably right. The League should come up with some way of working out who should be ranked where in the table. Something like awarding points for wins and draws, etc. Maybe?
hang on a minute, did we not say were still second till that became beyond us in LEAGUE ONE ,this is a shabby little team no character. thankfully we have relegation fodder coming to the valley in next two games, but any team with anything about them such as norwich or millwall will take the complete piss out of us

Weren't Tranmere & Leyton Orient relegation fodder as well?.
We are going to come up against two teams that will be strong and well organised. At the moment that appears to be all you need to be to take points off of us.
Nolly called us ''a shabby little team of no character.''
I was going to log out but I have to say there's a lesson there for all those who like to swear and be abusive. IT'S REALLY NOT NECESSARY!!! I think Nolly's simple but cutting comment is the most damning criticism of us that I have read in a very long, long time...
We can show character, of course. One thinks of Swindon at home. But why do we need to go down to nine men in order to show it?

Sorry mate but it was complete fucking bollocks from where i was sitting.

Chizz do you forget i'm normally an optimist all im saying our position does not reflect how we are playing - just look at who we've lost to!
The "we've only lost 3 games" this season becomes rather irrelevant when you add into the equation that we've drawn more than any other team.
And that is why we're 9 points behind Norwich and have a 15 goal worst goal difference despite them losing one game more than us and getting thrashed in their first game of the season.
I hope they decide not to limit the league table to just the last games.
that's not the point - we are awful at the moment & unless something changes we are going to miss out this season
i remember people with the same head-in-the-sand approach as yours Chizz mocking the doubters last season......
moaning isn't going to change the outcome of the season, but fans have the right to vent at the crap being served up at the moment
Absolutely right. Absolutely right to moan after a dreadful performance like that. It was shocking. Terrible.
I just don't draw a perfect correlation between our last eight games and our likelihood of winning promotion. No team in this league is going to remain un-beaten all season. Leeds failed to beat us. Norwich had a dreadful start. There are plenty of points still to play for. And I am hoping - against hope? - that we'll see enough games like the start of the season to seal a promotion spot.
If we have to have a bad patch, then now's as good a time to have it as any. As long as it ends soon.
Up the Addicks!

Ooh so negative. You just pop up when it's been proved that you're correct and respond to the abuse you've been given when expressing your original point of view. What a twunt. I, for one, thing we were amazing tonight. If it hadn't been for Trevvy Kettle and that nasty Mr rAcon we'd have one a hundred nil. IdoiT

I don't see much evidence in this team that we have what it takes to turn it around unfortunately - i think the last 8-10 games are indicative of what we are & what we will be - pretty mediocre

I have to agree with this, if we drew all 38 games and got relegated, would people be saying "we haven't lost all season"? Unlikely. So what does it matter if we don't lose that many, we've not won many recently either.
It's wins that count, i'd rather win 3 and lose 3 than draw 6 in a row.
As I said on another thread, whilst we can put some stall by our league position, our exceptional early form does not mean that the team as it is right now is of third place quality.
As far as we know, the flowing side that racked up so many of our points at the beginning of the season may never return, and if so then what we are right now is not a top side, but a mediocre side with a rapidly eroding cushion.

At least, that's what I read somewhere...

1.25 points per game is not enough

on evidence so far on the playing field - more like third from the bottom

I'm already quite excited about being 'still 5th'. It'll be like the good old days
This works on two levels
EDIT - and with a title change it now works on no levels :-(
