TV cliches to listen out for tonight.......

edited February 2010 in General Charlton
So what should we expect ??

"hard to believe its just x years since Charlton were an ESTABLISHED Premier League club"

"all gone wrong since Alan Curbishley left" x4

"Phil Parkinson has done a great job"

Comments

  • Chasing Leeds.
  • ALL THOSE CHARLTON FANS calling for Curbishley's head... (as if 99% were wishing him to go)
  • Charlton have alot of possesion but still no shots on target
  • 'charlton were once considered the role model for all clubs trying to establish themselves at the top level'
  • what a tough league this is with the likes of charlton, norwich and leeds pushing for promotion
  • Just because they're cliches doesn't mean they're not true, AFKA!
  • "impressive away support tonight"

"two brother's playing in the same team tonight, don't see that very often"

"A real sporting family the Sodje's"

i think charlton fans would have taken the draw before kick off

    there's no easy games anymore

those fans that have made it tonight should consider themselves as heroes
  • "And let's not forget that former Charlton manager Lennie Lawrence is now part of the set up here at Bristol Rovers"

    NAP!
  • So, it's Charlton that kick off for the second half trailing 1-0
  • The Charlton back four are at sixes and sevens!
  • "And Rovers will be missing the hugely influential Chris Dickson tonight, who is not being allowed to play by his parent club"
  • Any ex player: "They're a real honest bunch of lads here at Charlton"

(after a tricksy Lloyd Sam run that ends in nothing) "Sam's contract is up in the summer, and there won''t be a shortage of potential suitors"

The one that annoyed me in the Orient game was when the commentator referred to Norwich and Leeds as the 'big 2', as if we were just a small club pluckily scrapping at their heels. Leeds fair enough to some extent, but Norwich?
  • Plucky Charlton!
  • sams championship level
  • Where would they be without Nicky Bailey
  • "Play-off hopefuls"

"...chance to show a wider audience how much they would be worth signing in the Summer"

"...despite the hard work of Alan Pardew, are now languishing in the lower-reaches of the football league"

"...missing Chris Dickson, who today joined Kent rivals Gillingham"

"...against a team packed with players who, only a few seasons ago were mixing it with the Chelseas, Manchester Uniteds and Arsenals of this world..."

    ... and, my favourite:

"and that equals Charlton's best result since the 8-1 defeat of Middlesbrough in 1953"
  • ''neither side have been able to get the ball down and play''

''neither goalkepper has had a single save to make''

''this game has not been a classic''

''Well that was shit, back to you in the studio''

  • "... well as there appears not to be much going on, on the pitch, here are a few emails from viewers. First, an interesting post from a fan called Jonathan Ackworth..."
  • 'There is Charlton fanatic 'Nathan Prior' on the phone looking very cold'
  • That's the 6th goal of the season from Wagstaff after coming off the bench

sodje has won everything at the back for charlton

dailly reportedly the fittest man at charlton

    elliott a lifelong cafc fan

rob lee used to be a turnstile operator at the valley
  • "The East Londoners..."
