[cite]Posted By: Mortimerician[/cite]Maybe we'll let him start a game this time.
He started 2 games last time Morts - Swindon and Brentford.
I'm glad we've got him back, we need that battering ram kind of a player who'll unsettle big lumps of centre backs. Don't expect this to be a boon for those who are demanding we play more cultured football, though.
Good news. Been saying for months that we'd probably sign him in the summer when he's out of contract, so instead of a 6 month loan Akpo will be playing to earn himself a full time move near to his family. Good news.
why I think it's a great move, he is effectively now "on trial" for 6 months and for that reason will be playing more like "our" player than a normal loanee would
[cite]Posted By: oohaahmortimer[/cite]he is awful in my opinion and is as bad as the clown
F-ing hell, give him a chance!
sorry for forming an opinion on what limited action i have seen of him ...
And therein lies the problem. Glad to see you've made your mind up on him after seeing him play how many minutes? He was excellent against Yeovil and Swindon.
i'm entitled to my crappy opinion as much as you are chris ...
but my first opinion on what i have seen is i'm not impressed but just as i was with mcleod ,dicko i thought they were pony on my limited first impressions
obviously i hope he turns out to be a decent player for us but i'm not holding much hope .....
btw i thought mooney looked ok from what i had seen but they may not be the case .....
Whenever he has played for longer than a short cameo, Sodje has looked decent, he is not going tp get lots of goals but brings a lot to the team. Certainly impressed me more than Mooney and alongside Burton, we may not have lots of goals, but there is a real presence up there and maybe it will be enough to get us up.

Perhaps all part of the plan to beef up how we attack teams:
2 pacy wingers supplying crosses to the big man in the middle. perhaps Burton then plays off Akpodje?

if it was either McCleod back or A Sodje then I'm with the 99% and welcoming him
if we play 4-4-2 tomorrow night, he should defo start ahead of Mooney IMO

"He's got himself a contract there subject to him making the relevant number of appearances."
Sounds similar to the deal we had with Jay Bothroyd then. Still can't help but think we need some pace up front.
Not so young Akpo. He is 30 or very nearly so I believe....
Not the worst striking record i've seen...
