Guess Who Thought There Was A Match On Today.......?

edited January 2010 in General Charlton
Doh.............told my lad to get his stuff on an be ready by 10.30am. Mooching around gradually getting myself together and then suddenly a flash came into my mind "the O's game is on today isn't it?" Checked on BBC and of course its on Monday. Don't I feel the f*cking a*sehole! Its also depressing when you have been looking forward to going!

  • Especially even more annoying as I am off today and I couldn't book 3 hours off work Monday !! Mind you a fan behind me on Tuesday morning last week was looking forward to the Man city v Man Utd game, was musing in paper wondering what time kick off was for Wallsall v Charlton, couldn't find it and then noticed that we were playing at home to Hartlepool !! If he hadn't looked at the paper he would not have know the game had been switched and would not have gone !!
  • bing you're not alone.....Some years back I actually turned up at The Valley only to find I'd got the day wrong.
  • how did you manage that soundas? What was "the game?"
  • I am also one of these, bugger
  • Norwich Brentford today though, hopefully Brentford can do us a favour, but tbh I'm not sure if I want Norwich to lose form at the moment. Still a long way to go and everyone is talking about them and Leeds fighting it out while we quietly keep picking up the points...

I bet you do that regularly Soundas..... it's your age mate.

I was driven to Bramwall Lane once when we were playing Wednesday.
  • I don't remember the game the circumstances or exactly when it was...must be all of 30+ years ago....long before the days when you could just turn on the TV or a pooter and find out.

Got up about 1 o'clock, slipped down the stairs nice and quiet coz her in doors had been on nights, washed up, dried up and put them away, fed and watered the dog and then let it out for a shiite, fed the fish, tided up the cans and pizza boxes from last night, opened the curtains, tidied up the front room (didn't hoover, too noisy), left the house as quietly as possible, legged it up the road, paid the papers, legged it round to Sainsburys for four cans of carling and a giant bar of minty aero, legged it back home, slipped in quietly, crept into the back room (mustn't wake the sleeping tyrant) turned on the compy to listen the match on Charlton Iplayer, What...? NO LINK....!!!

I'm just about to start shouting then I slowly remembered we're playing Monday..!!!

Not so much bothered about forgetting we're playing Monday, but all that housework I did for nothing...

    Well sick...
  • yeah, gutted. I'm listening to Narrrwich instead
