Charlton vs. Orient - Poll, Team, Views and Boos

I expect a really low crowd for Monday night’s game live on Sky against Orient - as the majority of Charlton fans will be taking floydandharvey’s advice and boycotting Sky and their games…

Regardless, the game on Monday is Charlton’s 27th “must-win” game of the season and in the middle of three home games that Charlton should (and have to, of course) win to keep pace with Leeds and Norwich. With Leeds playing Spurs in the cup and the flying canaries at home to Brentford, come Monday evening it is entirely feasible that the top three will all be on the same points. How interesting. (Norwich and Leeds play on Tuesday though against Walsall and Swindon respectively).

Last Tuesday’s game against Hartlepool was a strange one. We dominated possession without much quality and we restricted them to hardly any chances while at the same time looking nervous if they got into the last third of the pitch. Yet we won.

Despite a flat atmosphere and strange mumurings of discontent from certain quarters, I cannot see Parky changing the team at all. Youga still seems a week or so away and Wagstaff has not convinced me that he can have the same impact as a sub for an entire match.

For me, it is same team, same result. Hopefully we can also get a similar atmosphere to what many of us experienced at the reverse fixture.

What are your thoughts?

    1 - 0 mooney
  • 3-1 Dailly Burton Mooney
  • as I said before Hartlepool, don't care how we do it but we need to win and I think we will, 2-1 again for me Burton and Shelvey...lowest home crowd of the season I think - incidentally I'd be amazed if there were the 14,000+ in the ground last Tuesday (as was suggested by the big screen), looked more like 11/12k max.
  • 2-0 Bailey & Burton
  • Robbie
    Frazer Dailly Llera Basey
    Sam Semedo Bailey McKenzie
    Burton Mooney

Leon has spent time playing left-mid so should be conscious of his defensive responsibilites. Lining up with a proper shape where everyone knows their job will give us more cohesion. All we need is for the defense and midfield to push up togetherwhen we win the ball, and not to drop back so far and quickly when we loose it.
  • Easy win, crowd will be ok as Orient will bring more than Hartepool.

Also predict that Len will predict we will lose :)

It is almost as if he does it every week - probably fob us off with some lame excuse....

Nervy 2-1 win after going behind in first half.
    Shelvey and Burton
  • We want and of course secretly expect us to win all of these three home matches. Something always goes wrong and this will be the one. Bore 0 - 0 draw.
  • 2-1
behind at half-time but we win with goals from Mooney and Sam
  • Seems ages ago that we went to Orient and it was warm!

Would stick with the same side. 3-0 Burton, Shelvey and Llera.

I do do it every week. as I've explained before it has now become a superstition and while we are doing ok i will continue it!

2-1 Orient. Our players will tense up because the boo boys will start up because we haven't scored in the first 15 minutes and Orient will score twice from their only two real attacks. Burton will get a late goal but amidst the boos ringing round The Valley we will fail to score an equaliser.

    Satisfied?

    :-)

won't be the lowest crowd of the season

Os will bring a good 800-1000

really looking forward to this one - my Dad's family are all Os so a big family meal at Kinveachy Towers beforehand then all down the road to the Valley
  • A really really big game for us and a chance to really lay down a marker of intent, nervy 2-1 to us
  • Nice to see the fish and chip shop is now in the ground......lazy slack journo....

1-0 grinder to us, it's all about the results at this shit level , that we must get out of ....... the excitment doesn't matter (only in the premiership is that important)
  • 7-0. It's time we stuffed someone.
    Burton hat trick
    Basey
    Wagstaff
    Dickson 2
  • Orient aren't very good away but apart from Norwich and Huddersfield haven't really taken any beatings. I'll go 2-1 to us but it won't be easy.
  • Im on a dirty weekend in apollo bay, but very annoyed I cant wach the boys.....

    F&*^ it!

Would have gone but stupid snooker commitments :-( grrrr!!!!! silly monday night game, wont even be able to watch on T.V
  • Charlton win...

    Is Sam Sodje available now?

If so then Sodje for Llera otherwise an unchanged side.
  • No one more game I think the OS said.
  • I think it would be unfair to drop llera, i dont think he had as bad a game against h'pool as others have said just gets marked down for giving away a penalty. he was no worse then daily, in my opinion played better overall
  • 1-3 freakey london derby, missing the chance to catch up!
    It's good to be wrong!
  • orient are a world class side and we'll be lucky if we can get on the score sheet for this one.potential banana skin.they had great result in november and they hit the post once.we'll be right up against it.a real east london derby,i just hope parky can get the players to up their game again like he has for the last few weeks.

hopefully people aren't going with the illusion that this will be a great game though, because you'll need to remember that we are a 3rd division side and you just shouldn't expect too much

    3-0
  • Open game, 3-1 to us.
  • Elliot, Richardson, Llera, Dailly, Basey, Wagstaff, Semedo, Bailey, Sam, Mooney, Burton. Charlton win 2-0. Bailey gets both goals in 23' and 55'.
  • 2-0 Charlton, at half time the covered end strip down to red mankini's,for the remainder of the match
