  • 'Your support is f*cking shit' was embarrassing.

Seemed to be a lot of idiots in the NU tonight.

    Booing ffs.
  • I haven't counted yet, but I did take a picture so that i could count in the privacy of my own home.
  • Yep. I counted 84 aswell. Gawd bless everyone of them x
  • Lucky we had over 14000 in the home stands, otherwise it would've looked less than half full.

[cite]Posted By: News Shopper[/cite]It lookede like a handful to me but a club official told me it was 84 at half-time. More revealingly Jeff Stelling wasn't one of them despite being London based and not doing the Sky show this evening.

A club official may have done, but he was wrong. That figure was being bandied around, but they had forgotten to add the 24 advance sales and three tickets that appear from the gate return to have been issued in conjunction with hospitality.

I'm told that there was great suspense in the control room as the turnstile count was stuck on 99 for ages, then four more turned up.
  • From flag "Kent Beer Boys"it is clear that some were local.

This proves Ooah Aargh's theory that the away support at the Valley is boosted by London and SE based exiles and so not a true comparison with our away support.
  • I counted 89 of them - fair play to each and every one of them.

And Ashtray, I thought Behan's first name might have been Les!
  • I counted them twice. Got 83 both times. God knows what the other 20 were up to.

I spoke to the bloke who is part of this on 606, group of blokes of who live in Medway, think only a couple actually support them [others London Prem clubs] but they go to a lot of the southern away games just to watch live Football, with ours being the 2nd closest. [he said he didn't count Jills as a proper away day!]

They had someone fly over for the original game fom Malaysia, who's sole purpose was to come to the Valley - called off and flew back.
  • Having just got home after bloody train set still for half an hour, I just want to say I think the fact that the game was rearranged so quickly(still don't know why) affected out following last night, would have been far more there for the original game and possibly if arranged later in season. Taking into account we travel to Bristol on Saturday as well before going to Norwich the following Saturday (new ground for most Pools fans)

Also cost would have stopped a lot attending last night.

The game actually cost me the following

For original game £29 train tickets bought well in advance and not refundable,(different train company to that which said Pools fans could use tickets for rearranged game or another in London) £10 for cheap travel lodge family room share. (room £30 /3 us staying) Cost for game off £39

Train to rearranged game £69 hotel room again £10 underground tickets think was about £8 could be wrong, underground ticket back today £4 ticket for game £25 Cost so far £116, cost of food and drink for the day/night approx £50-£60 so in region of £170 give or take a bit , now add money lost from original game, it is an outlay of over £200 to watch my team last night. Some would definitely not pay that for 1 game of football, so poorly attended I agree but lot factors to take into consideration. Take cost and probably having to put 2 days holiday in at work and there you go, poor following.

Anyway apart from result good day out, good luck with rest of season.

that's dedication and fair play to you. 103 may seem poor but I doubt we'd have taken more than 350 to you in the same circumstances and only took 600 for 1st away of the season in mid-August on a Saturday.
  • I counted 82 in the second half, why did they not sit together? But good on them long way to come on a Tuesday evening

Fair plar play to you fella. My trip to your ground at the start of the season was under £70 and was back in my local by 21.30.Mind you a round up your place was about £8 for 4 of us.Your loyal i give you that!
  • Based on average attendances, pro rata we would have to take 530 to Hartlepool on a cold Tuesday night in January to match their efforts last night.

    Hmmmmm....................
  • cue Ooh Ahh
  • Agreed about the stick some of our fans gave-we are a classless bunch at times. Maybe I'm too sensitive but singing "your support is f*cking sh!t" to the likes of Hartlepool and Orient (as we undoubtedly will) just doesn't sit right with me.

As for the booing, don't even get me started......

That's nothing mate. We played Wycombe away on saturday and it cost me about £350 all told. I would give you a breakdown, but it really is far too depressing just now.
  • Yup no class some people

I'm with Off_it on this, your moaning about £200 for a night out in London???? I did over a ton in a dirty boozer at WYCOMBE. That was before I'd paid for my beer money, ticket and travel.

Again, fair play to all of you lot who made the trip, I know we wouldn't have took many more there on a baltic Tuesday night
  • We'd have taken at least 115- FACT.
