Away Coach Question

edited January 2010 in General Charlton
I just wanted to ask a quick question about the Away coach to Wycombe on the 16th Jan.

Basically my son is planning to go with his mate, on there own. About to buy the tickets when I noticed it said they may turn away under 16's unaccompanied by an adult. My son is fine as he is 16, yet his mate is 15. Both of them look about 17, and I was just wondering whether the Stewards are pretty harsh with this and whether they would need ID to get on? I dont want to break the rules, but there not looking to cause trouble, just a harmless away trip following the team they love. Unfortunately I cant make it, otherwise I would be going with them, and you wouldnt be reading this now :)

Thanks, and hope you can help !

  • I was going to away games with friends on our own when we was 14/15 and never had any problems. Unless the rules have dramatically changed in the last 5 years and they don't act like dickheads i.e boozing and smoking on the coach then it shouldn't be a problem :)

By the way just thought i would mention the atmosphere on the away coaches nowdays is crap! No banter and no songs!
  • In practice we wouldn't turn them away, especially on such a short trip. We do have problems with bigger groups of U18s, particularly because they tend to smuggle drink and upset other passengers, so we reserve the right to stop them getting on.
  • Airman Brown, are you a coach steward?

agim, thanks for the hopeful advice :)
  • Also, when do people think these tickets will sell out, game and coach?
    Thanks
