His crossing however was erratic and while he could claim several assists, as opposition managers identified the tactic the defence would often be left exposed with Yassin stuck upfield if a cross went astray.

    Sounds about right.

    We don't need him.
  • I'd generally agree, although I don't think we've got much choice in the matter. If we're stuck with him should we play him?
  • never knew their nickname was The Dossers.
  • They let in 15 goals in five matches , thats what happens when your wing back is hoplessly out of position.
  • [cite]Posted By: McLovin[/cite]I'd generally agree, although I don't think we've got much choice in the matter. If we're stuck with him should we play him?

as we're paying him 8k pw perhaps we should make him earn it. See if his attitude has improved and if so then give him a chance. Can't be worse than Ohmysuzi imo.
  • I think we should play the player who does the most for the team regardless of their wages.

Why should Omo, Richardson or Solly be dropped for a less effective player? Makes no sense.
  • No chances to a player whose attitude wasn't right.

It'd soon bloody change if he was on what he's currently worth. . .
  • I posted some comments on the thread below which i found on a Motherwell forum, seems he's not too popular up there.

    Moo2
  • im happy he's back, i think he deserves a chance. but then again Omo hasn't been doing too bad at mo so why change it and solly back in contention aswell so if he is not given a chance then could understand it

I think he is just as good at defending as youga & better going forward, i know different sides but just making the point he isnt rubbish and feel is a bit exaggerated he cant defend! he can sometimes bit too high up but from when i have seen he comes back to cover the majority of the time

You must see two completely different players to me then.
Moo2 can't defend, i can't recall him ever dribbling round players like Youga does and barring once at home to Reading he can't cross either.
The only thing he has over Youga is pace.

Omozusi is doing ok at the moment IMO so however much I loved those bombing runs one in five crosses would get past the first man meaning too many were wasted and he couldn't defend either.
  • Sky Sports confirm he is back on their transfer watch.

Regardless of whether any of us think he is good, or crap, we need shot of him because of his wages.

Just a little puzzled by the article quote above ........ Moo2 will not have been the first and only fullback in the history of football to overlap and go bombing up the wing, and moves can break down of course.

When a fullback overlaps, players in certain positions are expected to provide defensive cover - think about it, in our own case when Richardson or Omo overlap, Semedo, Bailey or Dailly will move across to cover.

All teams do that, don't they?

It appears to me that Motherwell were not showing the team discipline to cover and close ranks defensively behind Moo2.
    Basics, I would have thought?
  • Would only put him back in the team as a winger as he is an awful defender.

If Sam was effective on the left and Yassin would play on the right it could solve a problem. However in reality his wages are a massive burden and he does not come close to justifying them so if we could get rid then that is what we should do. Sadly rather than freeing up wages for someone else I think it would just help the club to bring its pay structure back in line with some of our peers (just like getting rid of Mcleod would).

I think our only real chance to get rid is that Portsmouth have to sell so many players they accept Yassin as a freebee just to help get a team out, he would prob take a wage cut to get back in the Prem and we may be left without a liability - unlikely though!

    Maybe lol

I think as a threat he is good going forward, crossing is a bit hit n miss but on a good day would say better going forward but then doesnt have the consistency especially which youga does have this year but im sure it would come. this league is different to Scottish aswell and im sure he would have been given the license to go forward otherwise why did they still play him? i think parky could bring out the best in him but if he wants to work at it

As for defending wen he was with us i didnt think he did too bad and he is a bit older now so hopefully bit more mature, give him a few games if richardson not fit and see whether he merits a place i think. as his potential is huge, but whether he makes it and gets the chance is another thing
  • I still think he could have a part to play for us this season - I don't think he is as bad a defender as people make out (please quote examples of where his defending has cost us points) and he is better going forward than Omosuzi and I would say a better crosser of a ball than LLoyd Sam !!!!! Reading last year he had a great game and for those of you who don't travel away he set up Andy Gray's goal at St Andrews last season with a great pass out of defence.

Give the lad a go, I say!!!!!!!!!

Scunthorpe away. *insert smart arse smiley thing *
  • And set up Youga's goal at Plymouth.

And in his first match, the exotic cross that Marcus Bent scored from against Scunthorpe.

He's not my favourite player, and he is woefully inconsistant at times .... it's easy to dismiss the good things he does but credit where it's due.
  • All this chat about him is irrelevant though, Parky has worked hard to build a close knit squad with the right attitude and he surely isn't going to allow someone like Moo2 to come back and ruin that. Especially if he's on an alleged 8k a week.

  • Richardson & Suzi are both MUCH better defenders. Havn't seen Solly but my hunch is he is too...Parky clearly dislikes him too - you just have to see the comments he has made about Dickson (if he works hard he could have a part to play etc) compared to MooToo (nothing positive whatsoever that i can remember).

Like I said above, winger would be the only place I would play him but i think the bridges are burnt and he will be off one way or another.
  • like most of the shit in our squad this third tier could be his level and we can say how great he is while we are here

Cheer up Ooh Aah, we did win the FA Cup in 1947
  • some maybe happy with third rate football, my sights are a little bit higher than them ......;-(

    lol someones happy today!

dont think anyone is happy with third tier football, but at least we are winning games so everyone is a bit more positive. i would be satisfied once in championship as that is our level but still no need to get down about what league we're in at least where not losinig week in week out.

Although that said watched premier years the other day when we went down in 2006/2007 bit depressing to see us down here after the premiership but these things happen and onwards & upwards for the future and lets hope we can get out of this league at first attempt
  • We should play the best RB and the best one who'll fit into the team.

    When was that ?

shut up! this year, we have not got to 3rd by fluke! also we have still won 2 out of 6 so still are winning, seriously some ppl i know its new year and xmas blues but cheer up!
  • I think Richardson is a far superior all-round player - sound defensively, willing to attack and a good crosser. Not seen a lot of Solly, looks a bit lightweight to me but I'll start to judge once I've seen him play a few times. Moots is a much better attacking fullback than Omo and without Youga and Richardson we've definitely lost some forward impertus down the flanks, but Omo is a much better defender than Moots who relies too heavily on his pace to compensate for his lack of positional/marking awareness and is very vulnerable when dealing with far post crosses. You pays your money you takes your choice - personally I prefer a defender who defends first.

All the same, I'd like to think he could still do a job for us at this level and it'd be hard to justify signing Omo for any longer than his current loan while Moots is still at the club.

Moots needs to come back, knuckle down and start listening to what Parky and the coaches are telling him, because Youga is a great demonstration that our coaches can improve him as a player. If he can't do that then we need to keep him at arms length from the squad because no player is worth disrupting the team spirit we've finally re-gained for, although our financial realities may dictate we have to use him come what may.
