This may be the first year in my adult life I've not actually bought an album.

I love these threads. Being outside the UK it's impossible to get to find out about new music in a 'natural' way.

Listening now to 'Hiding neath my umbrella.' Certainly a time and place for that. Not sure about other songs on this album though.

I don't get all the fuss about Artic Monkeys either - it sounds very unoriginal.

Surprised that no-one's mentionned The Temper Trap yet - excellent stuff when building up to a match with my Vets team!

Cant believe I missed Mumford and Sons! You should check out latest Avett Brothers or Langhorne Slims latest if you like them!

    1. Merriweather Post Pavilion - Animal Collective
    2. Lungs - Florence and the Machine
    3. Kings and Queens - Jamie T

For 2010, look out for a band from Brooklyn called 'The Drums', they're an exciting talent. I think 'Delphic' are going to be making waves as well

Mentioned Delphic elsewhere on here yesterday, going to be mega

Goldhawks sound like a good band for next year.

Lungs, It's Blitz and the last Lily Allen album were probably my favourites.

White Lies would be my fourth choice after Killers, YYYs and Airborne Toxic Event. YYYs are excellent - and, indeed, seeing them tonight in Bournemouth and in Osaka in January!

The White Lies album just leaves me cold, there trying to hard to sound the way they do, which is different to say Delphic who sound orginial
  • Options
Kasabian - West Ryder etc etc etc
White Lies - whatever it's called
The Prodigy - Invaders must die

Shout to the Twangs new one too, jewellery quarter. Bit less geezerish than the first one but more songy. Not quite as good as the first one but a good stab at a difficult second album
