Wonder if by the end of the month, we can produce the definitive Charlton XI's of the decade the best, most obscure, the best loan XI, English born, Foreign, the worst etc?
I throw this out as a starter for the best team of the decade..................
Kiely
Young
Powell
Rufus
Perry (i struggled for a second CB after Rufus)
Stuart
Parker
Jensen
Reid
Bent
Euell
I am talking players at the peak fo their game - ie Euell in the first two seasons of the decade scored very freely.

Obvious omissions in Kinsella and Mendonca but feel they would be more suited to the team of the 90's

Struggling here to think of 2 wingers and a forward to finish it off. Clearly don't want to use Scott Sinclair or Tom Soares.
Carlton Cole upfront - thought he was by & large very good for us - although very raw at the time.

er...Gavin Peacock!
Would swap Gray for Marcus Bent
I wouldn't argue too much. It was a close call between the two when i named the team.
I'd probably swap Thatcher with Traore too. I temporarily forgot about him or tried to block it out!!
Caig
Gibbs
Ashton
Brandao (now a full Portuguese international)
Sorondo
Pouso
Bagheri
Blomqvist
Sinclair

Well done if you saw any of that lot play!
I can claim to being one of the few who saw Bagheri's few minutes at Portman Road

Can't really make a case for Reid, as most of his best games came at Championship level.
Of that team none of Gibbs, Brandao,Walker or Christensen played in a competitive first team match as far as I recall. Only friendlies and reserve matches.
Jorge Costa - The greatest loan signing of all time!
Neil Heaney
Alex Song
Carlton Cole
Akpo! - and Sam Sodje first time round
Was Pringle on loan initially?

The Brandao who now plays for Portugal isn't the one we had. Ours was a full back, pretty sure the now superstar is a forward.
that's not what it says on wikipedia!!
and if its on there it must be true
