Where do you expect us to be, how many points etc ?

H Southend - 3

Biased probably but my head tells me we're going unbeaten over these 8 games.
However my heart says Brighton have just got Poyet in, Millwall we're doomed to fail, and Brentford have Bostock, plus of course we tend to do worse against teams we're expected to beat (Gills, Carlisle, Oldham, Northwich).
I'll be more than happy if we take the 18 points from 24 i've predicted.
Only 53 goals BFR? But that's only 6.5 goals a game - Chris Dickson scores that many goals in the first half of most games. We've got to be looking to score at least double that amount for Parky to keep his job, after all he's the one who's got a vendetta against Dicko!
Seriously though, all very winnable games and we've got to look to go unbeaten winning at least 5 - that should cement us in the top 2 ready for the big push in the New Year. No real reason why we can't win all 8 if we stay relatively free of injuries and suspensions.
Weird fact
Six years ago, in season 2003-04, our last eight games of the year produced three wins (Fulham - H, Chelsea - H, Spuds - A) three draws (Leicester - A, Boro - A, Newcastle - H) and two defeats (Leeds - H, Southampton - A).
So we beat three current Premiership teams, drew with three current Championship teams and lost to two current League One teams.
It's definitely a chance to pull away from the pack. Looking at some of the other teams next 8 games.
Huddersfield have to play Leeds, Norwich and MK Dons.
Norwich have to play Southampton, Millwall and Huddersfield.
MK Dons have to go away to Huddersfield and Millwall.
So if we can go 8 unbeaten we could definitely pull clear.
A Yeovil 3 H Bristol R 3 A Brighton 1 H Southend 3 A Stockport 3 H Millwall 1 H Swindon 3 A Brentford 1 That makes 18 points and should keep us in 2nd place. If I had a choice of beating Millwall or promotion, I'd go for promotion, then we won't have to play them next season.
[cite]Posted By: Miserableold-ish git[/cite]Ifwe carry on the season as we have so far, how many points will we have at the end, and who claimed that points total in the "Charity" ?
We're currently scoring at exactly 2pts per game, that would equal 92pts over a whole season. Enough for automatic promotion in each of the last 10 years and enough to win the title in 5 of them. During that 10 year period:
Highest points total for 1st place is Wigan with 100pts in 02/03
Lowest points total for 1st place is Southend with 82pts in 05/06
Highest points total for 2nd place is Rotherham with 91pts in 00/01
Lowest points total for 2nd place is Colchester with 79pts in 05/06 (one for the Parky haters there!)
I'm suprised how many people think we're gonna get nowt from the Millwall game. The 5 preceeding games are eminently winnable and we could go into the match high on confidence. 8 out of 8 24 points O
...and then McMoist was awoken from his slumber by his carer in order to take his medication
The two games i can see us losing are Millwall and Brentford, that said only two wins Bristol Rovers and Southend. The other games draws.10 points that will put us 4th or 5th. Now if the same attitude is taken as per MK Dons could take an extra few points from Yeovil and Stockport which would keep us 2nd.

2nd place on goal difference to Leeds. They are about to wobble.
Also - anyone notice that most of our main rivals still have to come to the Valley this season - we've played the tough away ones!!
Now if the same attitude is taken as per MK Dons could take an extra few points from Yeovil and Stockport which would keep us 2nd.
