Notice Graham Stuart mentioned above - one of my favourite players - a great professional and liked by fans of every club he went. An average player but gave his all - which is all we can ask. If some of the team last season had his attitude we wouldn't be in league 1!
Watched some of West Ham v Everton on Sunday and another former player, Scottie Parker seems to have hit top form.
Cheeky request but if anybody gets two minutes, could you please fill in my 5 question survey (got to get it done for a project) - no need to register or anything like that.
Really not sure what to do with the midfield. A lot of good options apart from on the left. Holden's probably not ready to start.
Up front two from Burton, McKenzie and Mooney, depending on fitness and how well they should work together. Haven't seen enough of Mooney and McKenzie to judge that just yet.
Not much to add to the above posts but would start with McKenzie & Mooney up front. And bring Randolph back .
After travelling MANY miles of late ( Leeds, Carlisle, Northwich, Soton) for very little reward , I think the lads owe us one. The attitude seemed a tad better last night, the application too but still nowhere near good enough to keep us in 2nd place against allcomers.. So it's all hands to the pump(??) boys on Sat and let's leave The Valley with smiles on our faces .
MMMM this will be the first time i have seen the great MK Dons in action so if anyone has seen them play before what sort of numbers do they take away/home i saw on Football league show a while back they had an attendance of 6,000 when they were 4th in the league its a big town why dont more people turn out and Paul ince seems to have done ok there
Addicks and Dons to share spoils
Charlton v MK Dons
Charlton have endured a torrid couple of weeks and know that defeat to MK Dons will see Paul Ince’s men leapfrog them into the second automatic promotion place.
The Addicks lost to Carlisle in their previous League One outing and followed that up with a shock FA Cup defeat to Northwich Victoria last weekend.
And things did not get any better on Wednesday evening as the Londoners were dumped out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy after losing 2-1 at Southampton.
With just two wins in their last nine league matches, the Reds have allowed their fellow promotion hopefuls to close on them and despite starting the season so well, could slip to fourth if things do not go to plan on Saturday.
Summer acquisition Leon McKenzie netted Athletic’s late consolation at St Mary’s and with Izale McLeod suspended and Deon Burton troubled by a hernia, the ex-Coventry striker could be handed his first Addicks start.
Effervescent defender Sam Sodje is also likely to play after turning down the opportunity to represent Nigeria in order to help his club side check their recent loss of form.
MK Dons – who last met Charlton ten years ago under their Wimbledon title – are only below the Addicks on goal difference following a run four wins out of five in the league.
Unlike their hosts, the Buckinghamshire side prevailed in the duo of cup competitions this week, firstly beating Macclesfield in the FA Cup and then advancing to the semi-finals of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with victory over Northampton.
Sam Baldock scored a brace against the Cobblers and with regular starter Jermaine Easter away with Wales this weekend, the 20-year-old – likened by his boss to Michael Owen – is set to for a start at the Valley.
If Baldock keeps his shooting boots on, it will be good news for Help for Heroes after Dons midfielder Peter Leven vowed to give £5 to the charity for every goal his side scores this term.
This weekend, though, the organisation may have to settle for one donation with a low-scoring draw the most likely outcome.
"Nick's been a bit disappointing in his recent performances,” Parkinson told the official website. "I look at Nick as a captain who inspires people with his performances. He needs to get back to that on Saturday. Whether it's in a different position, all will be revealed at three o'clock.”
Looks like Bailey will be playing in the middle, if not perhaps on the right. Parky is at least considering changing the midfield around a bit.
Will be interesting to see if Racon comes back in, or plays out wide himself. Do want to eventually see Shelvey in central midfield but I don't think Parky will use him there just yet, not with Racon, Bailey and Semedo all available.
Think we will take this match. Last few performances have been really poor, but all we have left to concentrate on is the league and Parky should be able to get the lads up for this match seeing as they are back in front of the Valley crowd and need to put on a good display to get the last few weeks out of their and OUR systems. Is this the turning point of the season..........maybe not.........but its sure gonna be a bloody important step.........lets hop its forwards and not backwards into mid-table!! 2-0 to addicks and I would play Randolph Richardson, Sodje, Dailey, Youga Holden, Shelvey, Bailey, Sam Mckenzie, Mooney or Burton Might as well see what Holden can do, if he is as quick as he looked in his cameo appearance on Wednesday........why not?
We have several players and we all know who they are who need to step up to the plate and stop the rot. We know they can do it because we`ve seen it. Big match this one. Draws my prediction and a decent performance. COYR
[cite]Posted By: Dazzler21[/cite]Sam on right Holden left their natural positions
Holden to start? I would stick with Bailey for now personally. He has goals in him (somewhere!) and it's too big a game to throw Holden in at the deep end. Bringing Holden on after 60 minutes could be a decent option though.
From what Parky is saying it looks like Bailey may start in centre mid.
I hope that doesn't mean shoving Shelvey or Racon out left.
Maybe he'll start with McKenzie on the left?
If it means playing Mooney and Burton up front I wouldn't mind, but I guess that's unlikely because we'd have no experienced forward on the bench.
Holden probably not ready to start yet.
Bailey starting in middle, by the sound of Parky' thoughts. Racon probably needs dropping, well below what he can do, and when he plays well, he is the man. Left side either Leon or Holden. 2-0 to us with Sodje scoring.
I'd be amazed if he played someone on loan from a non league club, who has played 25 mins in the JPT and has zero football league experience for our biggest game of the season. You may be right though.
Surely, he will play what he thinks is his strongest.
i would love to be proved wrong, but a rocket needs to be fired up Racons arse to get him going again, do agree with you about Holden, I was running out of options for left side, but he looks alright so far.

We need 442 today - and to play long ball pressure football. Get it in the box leon and deon cause hassle and bailey feed off knockdowns.
Not gonna be pretty today
as an reasonable standard ex goalie I can confirm the last thing you want is long high balls and shots from distance on a wet andwindy day
we need to use the conditions to our advantage.
Not a day for jonjo today - want 2 proper wingers and lots of service
and special note to Lloyd Sam - wear boots with long studs / blades ad I am fed up of seeing you in moccasins slipping around

Randolph
Richardson
Youga
Sodje
Dailly
Sam
Semedo
Bailey
Racon
Burton
McKenzie .
However, I think he may well play Ikeme.
Charlton to win 2-1.
Cheers.

Verdict: Charlton 1-1 MK Dons
1-1 for me.
442 for me
Randolph
Richardson Daily Sodje Youga
Sam Semedo Racon Bailey
Mooney Leon

2-0 to addicks and I would play
Randolph
Richardson, Sodje, Dailey, Youga
Holden, Shelvey, Bailey, Sam
Mckenzie, Mooney or Burton

Holden probably not ready to start yet.
I'm guessing he'll start:
Ikeme
Richardson Dailly Sodje Youga
Sam Semedo Bailey Racon
Burton McKenzie
Big game, impossible to predict.
I'll go with McKenzie to make it 2/3 in 2.
2-1 Charlton
well below what he can do, and when he plays well, he is the man.
Left side either Leon or Holden. 2-0 to us with Sodje scoring.

Ikeme/ maybe Randolph
Richardson
Dailly
Sodje
Youga
Sam
Semedo
Racon
Bailey
Burton
McKenzie 4-4-2
Racons arse to get him going again, do agree with you about Holden,
I was running out of options for left side, but he looks alright so far.
but I hope 3-0 us, theres something small missing and it's hard to put in place - but if we can i'll be one happy chappy!
stick to our team we know can win, if it's not working we can switch when and who we need to.
Youga to score, hopefully.
The new Sodje to score the winner!
It's a good job there's no prediction league this week as I feel a nine pointer would have been due!
