Come On

edited November 2009 in General Charlton
Can we all just get a grip, yes last night was not great, yes we have put in a couple of below par performance, but we are still second in the league with a massive game on Saturday.

I feel like a lot of people have been waiting for a bad period to get straight on Parkys back and have a moan.

Come on let’s get behind the team for Saturday and help the lads back to winning ways.

How many people would have taken being 2nd in the league only losing twice in the league and solid at home?

  • Biggest game of the season by far on Saturday.
  • I know exactly what you mean R+C, but i think its the fear thing sinking in of where this 'might' be heading, which is wholly understandable given our recent history.

If people want to use the fact that we are second in the league, then on equal merit we have to accept the fact in the last three games we have been convincingly beaten by the team 3rd from bottom in our league, a side near the bottom who had won just 2 of their 7 home games, and a side of part-timers three leagues below us.

An ominous feeling is growing, and i'm not sure people are so keen to endure it as patiently as they did in the previous few years. There should be no reason whatsoever for us to be going backwards, we have the 2nd highest budget in this division, yet the signs indicate that is what is going to happen. It is two years ago repeating.

HOWEVER, this is absolutely nothing that a good win and performance won't rectify. Confidence is clearly fragile, and it can return again just as quickly as it clearly has been lost.
  • *awaits oohahh to use the words 'third tier'*

agree with that, nothing that a solid home win and good performance won't cure saturday in my opinion, however a p*ss poor performance along the lines of the last 3 games coupled with a home defeat and I don't expect the home crowd to mince their words !!
  • We all know we've hit a lean spell but some of the posters on here these last few days are 'tearing the arse' out of the situation and lashing out in all directions making this a somewhat unhappy place to visit.
Football is a strange game, a couple of wins under our belt and all 'could' be well again....it may or may not happen on Saturday...let's hope it does, if only to get shot of some of these mysterious new posters who seem to come out of the woodwork when things aren't going too well....Mmmmm not going too well...second in the league aren't we....despite hitting a rocky patch.
