We're rubbish in the cup - whatever cup it is, granted
We ARE second in the league still and unbeaten at home
But please, somebody tell me what positives we can take from our results over the last 8 games and our players' performances in the last two games?
I'm a generally glass half full person in life - it's only Charlton that makes me glass half empty.
I played a bit when younger, to a decent standard, so I hope I know a little about the game, and it strikes me that :
Jonjo has lost his mojo - he's a young kid and I think the way we're now playing is having a bad effect on him - we must get the ball moving through midfield again, rather than lump it long
Sam looks half the player he was - injury, lack of confidence?
Burton is the only forward we have who can play in a 4-5-1 and as he has a hernia - giving him 25 minutes in a meaningless cup tie is madness - let him have his operation and come back fully fit for the new year FFS!
Basey won't make it at Charlton - I hate to say, told you so - but he's not good enough
Play Randolph - he's no worse than Ikeme
Give Holden a game on the left hand side of midfield, bring Bailey into the middle and forego a central midfielder.
Spring .....why?
Play McKenzie and Mooney up front together on Saturday.
Get rid of McLeod.
If the players have a lack of confidence - it's not OUR job - it's what the manager gets paid to do!
I was impressed with how Parkinson handled himself in pre-season and then in the first few games - however, sides have sussed us out and he doesn't appear to know what to do next - this, unfortunately, looks like a slide down the table - please don't tell me the last two months can make you think anything else ....
The forum is about opinions and debate - too many extremists for sure - as there are in life - but just because the doubters look like their "I told you so's" might be right - that doesn't make them right nor wrong - however the head in the sand people will suffocate if they keep them any longer in the sand - I mean, three seasons is probably long enough to suffocate in .....

I am not saying we are problem free, we are not, but one good showing on Saturday against MKD could well swing the pendelum back our way again.
Its a long, long season folks.
Regards Burton, McKenzie is only just getting fit now and Mooney hasn't been on board long, so maybe after Saturday we will be in the position whereby Burton can be rested for three weeks which might resolve the hernia problem without surgery - especially with a free weekend now looming.
I didn't realise Matt Spring was on the pitch last night until I heard his name mentioned after 25 mins !! After that I thought he played ok and got forward & back more than others but still prefer Racon & Semedo.
Holden - impressed with what I saw & could show Sam a thing or two about crossing. Should be given a chance the next few games (start not bench) as he can't be any worse than Sam or Waggy.
Play 442 - Holden & Sam on the wings, Shelvey & Racon in midfield. Mooney & McKenzie upfront. Youga,Dailley,Sodje,Richardson at the back - Randolph in goal until Elli is fit again...........why bring in a keeper when you have one already ??????? Not that impressed with Ikeme - dropped a couple and shold have saved their second and now we have p**sed off one of our own players for a loaneee.............do we ever learn ???????
Thankyoumuchlove.
He defiantely displaying the midas touch thing....
and we arent crumbling, were wobbling but we arent crumbling......
Agree. Looking good but lets get a nice undefeated run going to at least 20th December.
Agree again. Always thought he was a proper footballer and I'd still like to see him play in the middle as the holding player if Semedo isn't available.
