Did anyone spot a response?

edited November 2009 in General Charlton
Just listened to parky's interview.
Personally I didn't see a reaction but genuinely asking did anyone else?
I am trying to look for something positive apart from the fact we scored.

If there was a reaction it was sporadic to say the least.

Their second goal came at the wrong time for us as we were starting to pass it around a bit more and the last ten minutes we had some urgency. I'm not sure if this was because Soton felt the game was already finished.

Basically though, no, we were pretty awful.

    Strangers all over the park.
  • we played a smidge better...but still poor.
  • I thought that we played much better when Leon and Deon came on. I suspect Sam may be injured. Played like a bunch of strangers at times.

We should have Richardson and Sodje back on Sat. That should give the midfield a bit more confidence as Llera really worries me.

Play 442 on saturday from the start, drop Jonjo and Racon. Bailey and Semedo in central midfield. Give Olden a go on the wing, he looked to grow in confidence.

    Sums it well for me.

3 players going for the same ball at times.

    Change the record.
  • I have to say we were better, at least in the 2nd half, but on balance if that was a reaction to Sunday then I would hate to see us really humiliated- something like being beaten by a side in the Blue Sq North in the FA Cup...
  • We were a bit better in the second-half but given the first-half performance it would have been impossible to be any worse.
  • I suppose you cannot blame the Manager for backing the players, they did work hard, no-one was noticeably hiding or cheating, but that it what I would expect as a bare minimum from any team. As for the 'Reaction' after the last game, if there was one I did not see it, although if we had won having played the same way that would be classed as one.
  • Millwall mates are already saying the wheels are coming off trying really hard to defend our cause, but i am starting to think they are right, really is starting to smack of 18 months ago good start to the season maybe a false dawn, playing players in wrong positions, the rest is history.

Something has gone drastically wrong over the last 5 weeks behind the scenes, maybe the eagos that were smashed in pre season have began to surface again after the start we had.
  • Spot on assessment.
