  • Is this a genuine question?
  • It won't happen!
  • To be honest I wouldn't waste my time going to see Charlton at Wembley in a meaningless third-rate cup competition...
  • i don't think it will happen i think pards will turn us over tonight plus norwich still in the competition
  • we would match millwalls 40,000 imo.

The last time we had about 30,000 against Blackburn.

If I recall correctly ... and I was there ... we had a lot less than 30k, but it was still a good day out, spoiled by the fact that we didn't even score. Fortunately that was made up for a few years later :-)
  • More to the point, will anyone from the Board be there?
  • Sarcasm has been defeated on CL once again!

I'd sell me left nut to get there, Id need a few bob as it would be quite a bus fare from Oz.

Any day at wembley is a great day, no matter what the comp. It's wembley!!!

Plus me mum's been in my ear'ole for ages bout coming back to see the family. Would be a great incentive!

For the day out, yes. But don't expect me to get excited about winning a two Bob cup. After the play-off final nothing will ever compare.

ps there were 43,000 at the Blackburn game. Probably 30,000 of them and 13,000 of us.

    I would .....!!

Wembley. Day out. Beer to be drunk. Have a few laughs.

    Might even win.
    Stranger things happen at sea.

    ;o)
  • I maintain it won't happen BUT if it did what other opportunity are we likely to get to visit the new Wembley with Charlton?

    1947, 1987, 1998.

Hardly a regular occurrence! I missed the 1987 game as it was my daughters birthday party and we had (by our standards anyway) a bit of a do which had to be arranged well in advance of Charlton reaching the Simod final.
  • We won't, but yes I'd like to go. We don't and probably never will have many visits to Wembley.

2010 Division 1 Play Off final?

Possible but unlikely in my opinion. I think if we finish in a play off position we will bottle the semi.
  • It'll be just a day out. Like the last one .....

    ;o)
  • the JPT has lost a little bit of its appeal this year, as the holders weren't allowed to defend the trophy.*

*that's what i'll be saying tomorrow.
  • who are the holders?

  • I'd be there. Absolutely.

Couldn't care less what competition it is - if it's a competitive match I'll support them.
  • I really cant see how anyone wouldn't want to go. I especially find it hard to imagine being there and not getting excited if we were winning !!! I sometimes wonder about you lot
  • Of course not, I've got to the likes of Hartlepool and Northwich, why would I be interested in wembley?
  • I just love a big Charlton occasion regardless of whether it's a small paint pot cup at Wembley - or a trip to Yeovil.
So don't wonder about me, Uncle.

    Or perhaps you should ......!!!!

    ;o)
  • Christ on a bike..............
    Would you stop supporting charlton?
Will you go and see charlton play at wembley?
    What next............
If charlton turned things round and won the league would you be happy?
And people debate these questions, good luck to ya!?

    Chill out mate!

You sound like a Iranian mullah! How dare anyone question the faith!

I thought the debate about 'Would you stop supporting Charlton' was interesting to read. There is no harm whatsoever in such questions.

PS I will be happy when we start playing decent possession football again. At the moment I care more about that than the results.
  • Yes, and if we won it, I would paint the town RED.
  • 1987 Wembley Done it one of the 13,000 CHARLTON FANS that day.
Do not get your hopes up just yet, long way to go,almost forgot one of the Eight Hundred and Seventeen at Selhurst park 3rd v Bradford City that is 817 fans.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed but the Sky caption for info' on tonight's game reminds the nation that we haven't made a cup quarter final of any sort since 1947! Wasn't the '94 United game a quarter final?
