Yes, the dip in form since he won the player of the month award has been drastic but when the team is ticking he's a capable Championship winger.
Completely agree. He has a shocker against Northwich, but that doesn't make him a bad player. A couple of good games will bring the confidence back. Let's hope it doesn't take too long.
two things - Ohmysuzi is awful. Lloyd Sam is over-rated. Produces very little, never takes a man on the outside, poor crossing. Time for Waggy to at least be given a go.
Agree with Large that Wagstaff should probably be given a couple of games now. But in Sam's defence there's not a lot to aim at in the box! We're definitely issing a big fella up front.
[cite]Posted By: Vinnie V.[/cite]Thought he was no worse than the rest of the team. Looked difficult to play in front of Omosuzi who gave the ball away so often.
I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that statement vinnie, but his performances have been under par for a while now.
A mate put it perfectly when he noted that every time we're relegated we say Sam will be good at this level only for him to reduce his own level accordingly!
Was the only midfielder who showed any real interest imo. Not saying much, I know, but I thought he was showing a least a modicum of interest unlike the other 3 who might as well not have been on the pitch. Omusuzi is like a less attacking version of Jaimie Carragher - he never got forward once which gave Sam not a lot of assistance. His crossing is better than he's given credit for too, it's inconsistent but he still produces at couple of good balls in each match, just we often have no-one really attacking them.
Having said all that - I think Waggy has bided his time long enough now and deserves his chance and I think Lloydy probably needs a little bit of a poke to, hopefully, sharpen him a bit. A few players need reminding that just because we have a small squad - it doesn't mean anyone is immune from being dropped.
sam laughed when he dribbled the ball out of play for the 23rd time of the match. the camera did a close up of him laughing. my dad nearly threw his shoe at the telly.
how the fuck we are 2nd according to u lot - not been to one game this season so shoot me down - but reading posts over the weeks weve got so many crap plaers we should be bottom

We were high fliers at the start of last year and even though problems were evident at the start of last season it was tough to see us ending up where we have. I see no reason why it couldnt be any different this year and can see us sliding down the table.

At the start of the season we had a run of games against sides who will be in the bottom 6 or 7 sides, Wycombe, Hartlepool, Walsall, Tranmere etc so got off to a flier. We've only beaten one decent side this season (Huddersfield) and we were lucky not to lose that.

Agree with that. An example of a poor crosser would be Youga. He can get into decent positions mainly through his pace, but he's rarely put a decent ball in. Sam has set up quite a few goals this season and last season. He really could do with at least one big target in the middle to aim for. With the players we have in the box, he's got to get the cross pretty much perfect.
the funniest thing yesterday was when the ref stopped play for an injury to Sodje when NV were in possession. At the drop ball Sam was supposed to boot it back to their keeper for the game to continue. Instead he shanked it off for a throw. They booed thinking he'd done it on purpose when really he completely ballsed it up. Even apologised to the ref !!
Sams over rated,he never crosses the ball when he should do,then always ends up losing it,had a few good games at the start of the season but thats it.He walked the ball straight of pitch yesterday for some reason.Needs to give Wagstaff a go now.
[cite]Posted By: suzisausage[/cite]wagstaff should have been on at the beginning.

I don't think he was laughing at dribbling out of play, more the fact that he ended up in a firemans lift and then an embrace with the Vics player who was tracking him back and trying to barge him out of play. It would have been nice to see him looking dissappointed with himself for the error but it was also nice to see a Charlton player behaving in a manner fitting to the occasion, given Mcleod's conduct earlier in the game.
It was embarassing when he walked the ball out of touch in the second half, was woeful yesterday and in all honesty he has been since september! Time for him to have a spell on the bench i think. Wonder what people will say if there is some Championship interest in him come Jan, would we say no to a nice fee?
To be fair to Sam, he didn't see a great deal of the ball yesterday and when he did, he had very little support.
He got a ball to his feet and before he can move he's closed down, and another defender doubled up on him - there's nowhere to go....... beats one man, then finds he's in a blind alley and still got 2 players to beat and no Charlton player within 10 yards.
Well Sam ain't Ryan Giggs, Ronaldo or Ronaldino ....... and he can't play on his own.
It's supposed to be a team game, as we saw with Northwich yesterday ......
Lloyd Sam seems to do no better or worse than the team he is playing in.
I reckon that, if put in an average prem side, he would look an average prem winger. Put him in a team low on confidence in league 1 and he will be shit.
he is a player with no backbone or bottle to stand up and be counted in our hour of need, despite being a talented player.

Actually yes, that is overrating him.

Not sure anyone overrates him - most people think he's pony
