My day has been a bit different to the rest of you.
I got up and did my kids some breakfast, before heading off up the fire station to polish my shoes and brush the cobwebs off the undress uniform, ahead of my annual attempt at marching. Stood through the honour list and the two minute silence, before congratulating my oldest two on representing the Brownies and Beavers respectively, it being the first march for my oldest.
Then came the choice football or a day with the family. Fearing the worst I chose the latter option, a nice lunch with a bottle of red and then on to the park, for a go on the swings. I had the football on Sky+ and would watch it upon my return, but as I pushed the two oldest on the swings the text messages started to flood in.
All too predictable and I am only annoyed at how easy you lot make it sound. I for one am glad at my choice, because as I started to get miserable it was easy to see what was truly important to me. But we better win the next two ;-)
