Have we all finished comitting suicide on here yet?

edited November 2009 in General Charlton
Only I looked at a paper and saw us near the top of the table - not that anyone on here seems to realise that

we lost - maybe loanees were not the best idea - maybe McLeod isn't the second coming of Christ - but jeez guys lighten up! It's about 46 games that matters (remember Leeds last season flew out of the blocks and then fell apart)

we've had a tough series of games but we are still up there. Admittedly yesterday looks a bad result but that's life!

How about less bitching and more supporting! If we were ad passionate in our support as we are in moaning we'd be awesome

I'm all for that when it's constructive - but the Parky Out brigade are a little wide of the mark and I am just fed up with people expecting us to thrash everyone - it's that kind of complacency that will kill us if the players get wind

as long as we get back to basics we'll be fine but this negativity will not help

I'm not in the Parky out camp (the time for that was in May) but to be fair, this sort of thing was what people were saying last year.

No one has come out and said we should be thrashing everyone and yes we are in the top two at the moment BUT there are some worrying signs appearing and our form/results over the last month or so has been patchy at best. Lets be honest a few people letting off some steam on the internet shouldn't derail our season on it's own should it???

  • Personally I'm dissapointed that no-one is having a moan about this season.
We've lost 2 games in the league and we're only 2nd in the league.
    Terrible.
    Murray/Varney/Parkinson/Kinsella OUT !

but other fans do. A feelgood factor can be spread but so can negativity and at the moment the last thing we need is to start booing the team again - but sadly I feel it coming soon
  • Truth is that Charlton have not been playing well for quite a while now and people are rightly or wrongly getting nervous. Imho our early season results were skewed because our midfield was scoring plenty of goals. This was never going to last and the lack of goals from our front men are now putting our perfomances in what I believe to be a truer light. I have said it before and still believe that unless a 20 goals a season striker is bought or loaned we can expect a playoff place at best. Not calling for Parkys head but like many others I hope that the new contract is not another mistake in what is becoming a long line of managerial based errors by the board.

I thought they were booed at half time when we were 1-1 against Huddersfield - only afew but still some

''Have we all finished comitting suicide on here''?, this thread asks.

Well I wasn't aware anybody had started.

11 pts from nine games = cause for concern = people discussing those concerns on a fan's forum, which was set up to do exactly that.

Not sure what the problem is, Swisdom. At least on CL. Clearly there are a few problems on the pitch at the moment (not scoring goals, not winning very often... that sort of thing). But Parky will hopefully sort it out.

Some of us think he should have been invited to sort it out before he got another year on his contract. But happily nobody is committing suicide on here, as you suggest.

    What a very strange thread!

Kap: I thought the h/t boos v 'Uddersfield were for the ref? They certainly were where I was sitting just above the tunnel. Those who booed waited until the officials were right in front of us. It wasn't directed at the team, at least not around me...
