We took 6,000 to Sunderland in 2006, so we would come in numbers, but as far as I'm aware, The FA take a dim view of switching ties. After Farnborough switched with Arsenal a few years back, to rake in the £££ they changed the rules. If the match can't take place at the home ground for H&S or Police reasons, it has to go to another suitable ground in the same aministrative FA area (for us, the Cheshire FA). That would mean Macc Town, Crewe Alex, Chester City or Altrincham as being possibilies.
We've a new ground with a reasonable capacity, so I can't see it moving. Breath in! It'll be a squeeze. I'm sure you lads will be up for standing at a Cup match - I've bet you've not done that for a few years :)
[cite]Posted By: floydandharvey[/cite]Paulton-Norwich will defo be televised. If there is a second game I hope it's us, for Northwich's financial sake. Also if it's televised there's more chance of me being able to get a ticket. I imagine a couple of thousand Charlton will want to go to this one, and I believe our allocation will only be 650-odd (15% of 4,500 capacity if I understand the rules correctly).
But it's ITV who have the rights, so therefore Oldham V Leeds is going be shown!

If you`ve got a driver & you like real ale & pubs, I`d recommend heading a couple of miles north of the ground to Great Budworth - where there`s the Cock o` Budworth - typically reasonably-priced Holts House - and the classy, traditional (but welcoming to decent folk) George & Dragon. If you just want to be off the beaten track and are heading in past J19 of M6, turn right onto a B road just after clearing the r/bout, as Pickmere has a couple of trad. pubs.
The Roebuck just up the road from Penny Black (Wetherspoons) in Northwich town centre is a decent pub now; very good pint whether you like bitter or lager
The Windmill at M6 Jct 18 is worth a stop at (Robbies Ales) whilst two sets of traffic lights later towards Northwich on the Manchester Road (and about 3 miles) the Smoker is another nice Robbies pub that does good scran.Turn left at these lights and about 1 mile later (over the local train line to Northwich) is the Golden Pheasant. John Willie Lees beers in top condition and I hear good food.
As previously mentioned, the Penny Black (Wetherspoons) in the town centre (just head for Sainsburys) is the best boozer by a country mile. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Victoria stadium is very 'out-of-town' so I imagine that we would try to put on some pop previsions for at the away-end. We've been known to stick a tent up before now in the home end.
[cite]Posted By: T[/cite]Can you still switch ties to your opponents ground if their ground is unsafe?
With them in Administration ("we can't pay the policeing") this has got tie switched and 10,000 Northwichians turning up at the Valley for a bumper pay day written all over it.
I don't think you can switch grounds any more - and I doubt that the police will deem the ground unfit in case we look like selling out and causing any danger. I'm sure that they'd simply cut capacity to a safe number.
as I have said on the other thread, ITV have at least one game and according to the Paulton Rovers website they have been selected as possibly one of Sky's TWO games.
Done a bit of digging on travel to this one.
Train from Euston with change at Stockport about £53. Approx 3 hours travel.
Train from Euston with change at Crewe about £38. Approx 2 hours travel.
The latter is two individual tickets booked. Euston-Crewe, then Crewe - Hartford.
Hartford being about two miles away.
If this game isn't televised live, then I'm on the Hartford one.
Hartford station is a *long* way from the Victoria Stadium. According to theaa.com, it's 4.3 miles.
You have a couple of other options though
You could walk from Hartford Station to Greenbank Station (1.2 miles along the same road - just turn right when you leave the station approach on the main road) and then get the train to Lostock Gralam Station (Manchester direction - 2 stops) and walk the 1.4 miles to the stadium.
You can get a bus from Hartford Station to Northwich Bus Station Service 82 (GHA Coaches) Hartford, Chester Road, Railway Station, opp 10:24 11:24 12:24 13:24 10:35 11:35 12:35 13:35 Northwich, Watling Street, Interchange, Stand D If you have a wait for the bus, there is a pub opposite Hartford Station and the bus-stop called 'The Coachman' www.coachmanhartford.co.uk
Then walk to the ground from here (1.9 miles)
You could go to The Coachman and book a taxi and have a pint Castle Cars 01606 77777 Jack Jones Private Hire 01606 75277 Exec 35 TEL 01606 871871 Hartford Travel Services 01606 79568 Millennium Travel Hartford 01606 784431 Mikes of Northwich 01606 888136 Time Travel 01606 783838 NEDZ of Northwich 01606 301481
A Trickies fan here (for the ill-informed - nickname of Northwich team),
a few pointers for any of you thinking of coming to the match: - Hartford station is the opposite side of Northwich, about 4 miles from the ground - I would suggest getting the bus from the station into town and then walking to the ground (plenty of watering holes en route) - for starters, theres a good pub opposite Hartford station called The Coachman. - Good pub near the ground (1/2 mile) is the Salt Barge and it has a good size car park and I'm sure if you asked the landlord (Dermot) he'd let you leave your car there during the match.
There has also been an emergency meeting of the local council where a few bylaws have been rushed through: - flat caps and whippets have been banished for the day. - horses and carts have also been banished for the day. A couple were rejected: - the stocks will be open and used for any unruly behaviour - Hogwarts will stay open (apparently to place a few spells on a team in red)
In the case of a replay, exactly where is Charleston ? My great uncle Fester, says it's in the state of Carolina - is that south of Watford ?
For those of you travelling, hope you all have a good day.

that and the hanger lane gyratory. undoubted kings of the travel reports.
Gutted to miss this one, I have not missed an away game so far this season, travelling upto holes such as Workington and the reaches of the Conference North, and looking at the fixtures a while back I realised I'd be away for the FAC fixture, was hoping for a home draw against a smaller club, bit selfish on my behalf! Sickening when we drew Charlton Athletic!
