The fact is prior to this season had we of been a League 1 club we wouldn't have had any kind of coverage (apart from Goals on Sunday, which is seemingly worse as it spends 70% of it's time looking at the Premier League games that had already been dissected 20 times since the game finished 18 hours the day before).
The beeb have filled a void, and while the text message bollocks drives me mental I get to see all the goals from the day's games plus what I don't think anyone has picked up on is the longer highlights (yes it is only 2 minutes it's not like it's extended) on the BBC Sport website.
Also (and yes it's a little off topic) you have to ask does the BBC chase ratings with Strictly & Eastenders, or do people the majority of people want to watch these programmes?
The point about "stealing fans" that Scally and others miss is that no one is forcing anyone to go to the Valley. Put it this way, if I had a free taxi journey from my house to Gillingham or any club you care to mention I wouldn't take it. The Valley Express helps by making it easier for Charlton fans to get to home matches so they can support the team of their choice. There's zero evidence that Gillingham attendances have been down since the inception of Valley Express and if Scally thinks that we are taking his fans what about the million or so other people in Kent who don't go to Charlton matches and yet still don't want to watch Gillingham.
[cite]Posted By: McLovin[/cite]She would have been there working. They are all assigned games for five live and web up dates. Female sports journo = third tier responsibility.
Anyone else notice that there are only 2 comentators that alternate for all fixtures in League 1 and League 2? That annoys me. They're comentating on highlights on games they haven't seen (unless they sat there from 3pm till 1130 pm watching every minute of every game. the 2 voices are very distinctive.

Yes - and I thought that came across fairly loudly and clearly in her reading out and agreeing with an email from a Jills fan saying they should have won.
She may or may not be a Palace fan, but we need to be a bit less pathetically touchy. When someone suggests we weren't the best team in a game and assume that it must be because they have some agenda to run the club down. We've not achieved two relegations in three years by being a good team.
I wouldn't disagree with what the emailer said, and I'm NOT a Palace fan.

It was the smug tone, as much as anything, McL. It's not as though we ever get great coverage on that programme, is it?
