Saw Walter Trout and his band at the Buxton Opera House this week when staying with friends. Had never heard of him before.
Great rock and blues guitarist who played with John Mayall many years ago and was also in Canned Heat for a period. Lots of stories between songs about jamming with people like Rory Gallagher, one of my heroes from the 70s, Mick Taylor etc. After years of excess he needed a liver transplant about 8 years ago. During 8 months in hospital he also suffered from brain damage which caused him to lose the ability to speech and forget how to play the guitar. He certainly manages to do both now. Felt like every male over the age of 60 with a pony tail in the vicinity of Buxton was there on Monday night!
Watched a cracking utube video last night “Fats Domino and Friends” - his friends being Jerry Lee Lewis and Ray Charles. Rock n Roll never sounded better.

I'm not into blues guitarists per se, but you make me wish I had been there!

first saw him about twenty years odd ago in (I think it was) New Malden and subsequently seen him since in sunny Cleethorpes and near Huddersfield .. always in small and intimate venues, he never changes .. a great blues band and his singing voice is also well up there .. Carlos Santana has described him as the world's best white blues guitarist (I wonder how many others he has said that about lol) .. a friend says nah, it Stevie Ray Vaughan , I never saw the late great Stevie live .. whatever, Walter at age 71 is still a blues master, and there ain't many left .. see him while y'all still can
Love this song, used to play very loud at the studio when I was working late and most had gone home.
Wished I'd seen them in their prime, rather than at Shepherds Bush Empire about 7 years ago. As we know he hasn't aged well, who has? He was sporting a Hitler style moustache, very weird.

Saw them at the Rainbow on Christmas Day 1978, and Hammersmith Palais in early 80’s … superb.
