I got my old copy of MC Strong's Indie Discography off the shelf and have been using it with Spotify to check out stuff I'd not heard before (or at least can't remember hearing). Yesterday, JJ72. Today, Giant Sand. Tomorrow? Who knows, there's so many things out there to listen too, and this is just from one genre.
I think one of the great shames in life it that most people only listen to a narrow selection of music based on charts, radio airplay or forced recommendations from streaming services. It's well worth taking time to check out something different.
