If we're counting Irish as non British (which we should) then Kins is my favourite, but Di Canio was easily the most skillful. Costa is a bit of a leg-end as well but wasn't the showman that Di Canio was and Kins was one of the main driving forces during the most enjoyable period of my time as a Charlton fan.
Your Firmanis, Learys and even Simonsen were before my time.
In terms of standing and status within the worldwide game in their respective eras it has to be Simonsen followed by Firmani.
If we are talking favourite Radostin Kishishev. By no means the best in terms of ability but very few home or overseas players have given more for the shirt in my 46 1/2 years of watching Charlton.
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]Shame so few of us could give a decent comparison to Leary and Firmani
we were chatting about this last week. I'm too young but some of the more senior people were saying that at the time fans were either Leary or Firmani. My dad was firmly in the Firmani camp on the basis that he was more of a team player and did it at the top level but others will disagree.
Kins - super skip, him saying early doors after the relegation that he was gonna stay, kind of set the tone for the straight back up season.
Di Canio - it was only one season but the passion of that man. I think he would be like that at any club, but it happened for one year it was my club.
Costa - just never warmed to him, and didnt think he was all that. I know I am in a minority of 1 on this but thats opinions for you !!!!!!
[cite]Posted By: Chirpy Red[/cite]The thread says BEST - Kish! One of the worst professional footballers I have ever seen in any shirt.
That is very harsh. I'm not sure this comparison quite works, but would you say Semedo is one of the worst professional footballers you have ever seen? Pretty similar players and I'm not sure Semedo could play well regularly in the Premiership.

I thought you wouldn't approve of immigrants playing for Charlton?
Cheap shot! Besides most of those have gone back! I think it is the ones which stay here that are the problem if there is a problem!
Admin - deliberate and unnecessary antagonistic post.
GH sets a trap and BFR walks right into it.
Sunk within the next 10 posts is my prediction

Kish is a great shout.
Johannson
Fish
Barlett
All played at big part and at the top level,

GH...how on earth have you managed to leave out Stuart Leary??????????????
Jenson & Kinsella would make my top 3.
Agreed the goal at Arsenal showed everybody what he could do.
He might be too young like me!
Stuart Leary got transferred to QPR shortly before I saw my first match at The Valley.
I noticed that he mentioned Firmani.....so I wondered why he missed out on mentioning Leary....same era?
That post has to be the worst I have ever seen on any message board.
