Some of you may have seen the Ernie Cooksey Flag in the Oldham end at The Valley on Saturday.

To find out more about Ernie, the Flag and its journey around the country and abroad, including the Charlton trip, click on the link and the various sections of the ernieflag site.

Any comments on Ernie and what we are doing with the Flag would be appreciated.

    Good stuff except for this:
The referee seemed to get caught up with the pressure build-up by Charlton and started to give one-sided decisions in favour of the home team.

Also, given that their keeper and an outfield player had both been booked for time wasting, it came as no surprise that the ref added 5 minutes extra time.

Good luck to the Oldham fans and their donation-gathering attempts. Hope they all had a good day out in South Eas London.

I am not going to criticise their match write-up because, frankly, if the write-ups are terrible, but they raise lots of money and gain exposure for their cause, they've done a great job.

Ernie was a local lad (SE London). A sad loss.
