  • Four of the five subs tonight v Crawley are uncapped: Lapsie, Maynard-Brewer, Maloney and Yamfam

Does this competition really count though.
    Just asking

Not wanting to start an argument but this ain't our first team

No, but neither was it in the league cup but that is also classed as a first team game.
    I concede sir
  • Finally, after making the bench last season, its congratulations to George Lapslie who becomes V846, the 846th first team Addick since we joined the league in 1921

Come on then give us a stat on debutants scoring and debutants from the academy scoring...
  • Last debutant to score?

    Fry
    Anyinsah
    Bothroyd
    M Bent
    Cameron Stewart

And now Eagles makes 6 debutantes who scored off the bench

  • Mikhail Kennedy becomes the 78th Addick to score on his debut.

Chris Eagles was the last debut scorer and Igor before him.

  • Maloney 847
  • Two in one night, such excitement!
  • Question for @Stig @shirty5 @Ollywozere @sadamson84

Fastest debut goal: Mills or Kennedy?
  • And how many of these were complete donkeys?

    None.

They all had to be decent to play professional football.
I think some of our supporters might not agree, if they're being honest.
I think if they were being reasonable they would
Not sure McCormack and Francis were viewed in that light when they were here?

Francis though, clearly had the last laugh.

    Wots QED?
Quod Erat Demonstrandum "it is proved" or "it is demonstrated"
More accurately, "What was to be demonstrated", erat being the past tense.
  • Joe Dodoo becomes V848 at Oldham
  • Joe Dodoo is the 80th Addick to score on his debut and only the 8th to do so from the subs bench.

  • Joe Dodoo is the 80th Addick to score on his debut and only the 8th to do so from the subs bench.

And two of those in the space of a week!

Unlikely as other than Marshall everyone has played. Maybe 3 or 4 in January

With Mark Marshall about to become V849 tomorrow at Fleetwood I though we could look back to V001 Joseph Hughes.

Joseph Hughes has that special place in Charlton history as he was our goalkeeper in our first ever football league game v Exeter on 27 August 1921. Charlton won 1 - 0 so he kept a clean sheet too.

He played just 19 league games for Charlton that season before leaving to join Orient. He has also played for Tufnell Park, South Weald, West Ham (1911-1915) Chelsea (1916 - 18) and Bolton 1919 (finished third in division 1). His last game for Charlton was on 24 December 1921.

Attached are some photos of Joe and of some other papers and medals that the family let us take. The Miller Cup (see attached medal) was a fundraising cup for the Miller Hospital in Greenwich.
