Old news really. He was incredibly rude to my wife when she tried to wish him luck for the season. We were in the same departure lounge on the way back from Ireland pre-season. Arrogant Twat.

Ah, understandable and no excuse for Youga (Other than he's french :-) )

Mom between Spring and Youga, just wish Youga could shoot as he gets himself in some good positions. Still early in season but Youga does not look the same player from last year
He still needs to realise that if he wants to be Cristiano Ronaldo he needs to actually score at the end, not just dribble from end to the other, and overhead kicks are all fun and games.. but you gotta score them. :-(
some definite value in Youga anytime at 17s for our Hudds match. he might aswell play upfront alongside Deon. :-)
Thought that was his best game in a Charlton shirt. Looked better defensively. Positional sense improving and willing to track back. His attacking runs down the flank and willingness to take on his man created chances for the team. Man of the Match against Oldham. The North stand singing his name as he trudged off at the final whistle seems to back up his impressive performance today.
As critical as I am about Parky's handling of the Dickson situation I have to commend him for managing to turn Kelly from being the subject of taunts and booing to one of our most consistent players now.
Pardew destroyed his confidence, Wagstaff's and others like sam to a lesser extent.
Parky had to try and rebuild that hence the lack of tangible results but improved performances last season. This season we have seen the benefit of his approach. No manager on earth succeeds with every player but if Moo2 and Dicko are the only two Parky loses I can live with that.
Pardew did more harm around the Club than the obvious one of spunking money.

come on he hit the f*%£ing crossbar! No one would have complained if it had been 2cm lower.
[cite]Posted By: LenGlover[/cite]Youga epitomises how Parky is doing a good job.

Good post, plus he's helped players like Elliot develop and kept the likes of Bailey and Racon at the club. Pretty much everything we hoped for in the summer when it comes to keeping players and getting more out of them.

Spot on Len. I thought Youga MOM before I realised it was his overhead kick. I think we are starting to see the Kelly that a mate of mine raved about when he watched Scunthorpe a couple of seasons back.
[cite]Posted By: benjaminroy[/cite]Last year Kelly Youga was completely shit I hated him couldn't understand why he was in our team........Now he's awesome!!!
[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]Kelly Youga .........the difference that confidence makes.
What Oggy said, and also i think Dailly's presence has benefited Kelly.

Yeah exactley because Dailly has the experiance whereas Youga is still ony what 23 or something around there
[quote][cite]Posted By: shirty5[/cite]Youga is having a good season so far. Imo this League could be his level.[/quote]
He is good enough for the Championship, just like so many of our players last year had no confidence or belief (Sam, Varney etc). Parky is clearly getting the best out of him and if he can maintain the level of performance especially at the back (going forward is a nice bonus) then he is more than adeqaute for 2nd tier
It is good to see Youga starting to turn it around. He still has massive erroneous madness at times in our half but hopefully Breaker and Parky are banging on to him about positioning; something he says they are. At least in comparison to last year he is chasing back as the vast majority of goals in the first half of the season last year were down to him being out of position and chugging back like asthmatic pensionable jogger.
You are going to get mistakes from him. He will try to dribble out of trouble and get caught in possession or go maurauding forward and then get stranded. What you get for the occasional peccadillo is a real quality player. I saw that when he came back from Scunnie. What is frankly scandalous is the way his confidence was managed by Pardew leading to him being a laughing stock for many.
We have our part to play though by not getting on his back if he strays occasionally. Just remember some of his recent performance which show why Curbs signed him and why he could have been playing in the Premier League.
"Kelly was slightly off the pace in the first two games of the season but he's a confident player," said Parkinson. "I sat down and told him not to think this division is going to be easy. You've got to be at your absolute maximum to stay in the team and you have to strive to be the one of the best left-backs in the division.
"After those first two games he's been very good. He's a big powerful boy, he's a threat and he's a great help defending set-plays and also his athleticism and drive forward has been excellent."
[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]more poor man management from Parky then : - )
Now now Henry you know very well there's only one player he's totally mismanaged - he just happens to be the very type of player we've been missing in the last three games. Someone who scores goals ;-)
At this level I can take a few mistakes from positive players. I can't take it when he's not goalside on a winger for no reason at all. I can't take it when he makes a ridiculously marauding run, often without the ball, and it's 0-0 or 1-1 and then he doesn't sprint back into position when he loses the ball; which he didn't at all last season. That ain't just a Pardew or Parky problem, that's a whole series of coaches who've completely messed up coaching on him since he was 20.
Wenger always says past 21 if you're not aware of positioning you never will be. That's not to say you don't make mistakes through exuberance but you are aware of what you should be doing. Clearly Youga was not last season, and even more idiotically Pardew didn't even analyse it as a problem. Unless it's drummed into him he will always be a weak point in the champ. You don't go on marauding runs, when you're midfield is deep, you're deep and the game is still young.
