Dirty Leeds v Charlton - Poll, score predictions, team selections etc

There is no better way to prepare for a top of the table clash against arguably the best team in the division with the most potent strikefroce, than by getting spanked 3-0 the match before with some awful defending and no creativity across the pitch…

So, a Charlton win then? Going to Elland Road is never easy, they haven’t lost there since the days of when Seth (RIP) was drinking in the Woolpack in Emmerdale. So what is Parky going to do and ho will it work out?

Does ‘The One With The Cap’ stay in the team or does Sodje come back against his employers from last term? Is Semedo going to make it and hopefully reignite the fire in Racon that has fizzled out in the last two games?

The one thing that is for certain is that the Addicks have to do something that they have not had to do all season - bounceback from a defeat. And what better place to do it than at Leeds?

  • I'm going for a draw with us going one up then they will throw everything at us and we will just hang on.

Who will be in the team? - I've no idea as I guess we might have some injuries after Colchester, just hope Sodje is in.
  • sodje's a must to come in for llera ..... after the horse has bolted

draw at best for us.... my score prediction 1-0 to leeds another stuffing and i fear we may have 'our charlton back'
  • No reason why we can't be as good tomorrow as we were bad on Tuesday. Anyone would think that Leeds had Bremner, Giles and Lorimer back the way some people eulogise about them. 2-0 to the Addicks.
  • Would love to be proved wrong but I can't see anything other than a home win.

I'm really hoping Semedo will be back for this game. I think this is more important than the Sodje/Llera debate. Spring has done ok, but Semedo has been our standout player this season and we've missed him in the last 2 games.

    I reckon it's going to be 0-0.
  • Chatting a while ago to a dirty Leeds supporting friend and we both agreed the thing that a major part of this season would be who is able to bounce back from their first defeat, just a shame we have to do it against them. I would gladly take a draw but I have a bad feeling about this, I'm not part of the doom and gloom lot after 1 match but I just felt the last few games have been a little laboured in the performance, I think this game has come at the wrong time but hopefully I am totally wrong
  • Hopefully going to be more of a 'football' game than Tuesday. With Semedo back I think we have a chance. Confidence however still looks fragile so we need a bit of leadership on the pitch. Hope Richardson can fire the boys up against his old team and bringing Sodje in for the same reason could be a good ploy.

I reckon a good game ending 2-2 but hope for a scrappy 1-0 to us.
  • If Semedo plays I think we will win. If it is Matt 'Anonymous' Spring then we are effectively playing with 10 men so will be a defeat I'm afraid.

Sodje for Llera is a given presumably.

    exactly...
  • The superstition went out the window Tuesday.

However I've still predicted a defeat. Semedo makes a huge difference and although I don't doubt that Spring tries his best he is nowhere near as good.

    4-0 Leeds.

  • Oh Len...

Mind you, I'm of a similar mind myself - this is where it could all start to go horribly wrong.

Please prove otherwise Parky and Co...this is not only a genuine six pointer, but could determine whether we're really in the race or not.
  • Id be happy with a draw.

    Hate Leeds.

    A lot.
  • A tight match but 2-1 to Leeds

You said yesterday all the omens were there for a Charlton smash and grab...I don't know, very fickle ;-)
  • I had a dream last night and on the tv it showed Leeds had scored 4 but couldnt see the charlton score. Therefore I have gone 4-0 on the predictions league.
  • Leeds 2-3 Charlton.
Hope Semedo back but don't agree with comments about Spring. I thought he has done well, stepping into the player of the season so fars shoes.
Reckon it will be an exciting game, plenty of goals and Nicky Bailey will be right up for it and it will show as MOM and goals.

    COYR!
  • something above 2 - 0 to leeds.
  • Easy Leeds win, I'm afraid.
  • I fear for a heavy Leeds win, esp after last tuesday.

But I really think we may win this one, after talking with a lot of Leeds fans, they really arnt firing on all cyclinders, and the fact they play football rather than hoof ball, that should play into our hands a little.

    1-2, Bailey and Burton

semedo to come back in for spring, Llera hopefully out for sodje
  • Believe me after watching Leeds tuesday night i will be happy with a draw we will possibly be missing 2 or 3 key players as well through injury with Snodgrass and Higgs in goal being major losses, If you bombard our stand in keeper with crosses you will win the bloke couldn't catch a cold. Sodje will win everything in the air against Beckford but may get done by his pace, it has all the makings of a classic so i will predict a 0-0 draw or if we don't improve 0-1. Atmosphere should be good but for some reason Bates is not opening the East stand upper so crowd should be around 30,000 mark, good luck for the rest of the season and lets hope the league table at the end of May looks the same as it does now,i would even take finishing in second as long as we get out of this poxy division.

  • Sodje in for Llera, Semedo to return but otherwise unchanged.

    I'd settle for a draw.

Is this match officially our "toughest test" of the season to date?

Atmosphere should be good, we've nearly sold 1500 tickets(which is good for us) so crowd should be around 30,000 mark, good luck for the rest of the season and lets hope the league table at the end of May looks the same as it does now,i would even take finishing in top spot as long as we get out of this poxy division.

    LOL!

very good Ooh Aah - like that one a lot!!
  • As long as we go in with the right mentality, we have all to play for. We have struggled this season against old championship clubs who came down with us, even though they have had a worse run of form, and the other downer has been Parky's old club, so again another mental issue. Yes we are down a couple of players, but having seen the team this season compared to the last there has been belief and a hunger that can take us back up to (at least) the Championship. I say get behind the boys, and urge them to play their best, they know it is a big game, and it should be one that the whole team really wants to win, COME ON THE ADDICKS
  • not a chance of anything other than a loss i stick with my " I will be happy with a 1 nil loss" and take the abuse from those on here who think i aint proper charlton if i think that.

and i will turn of pc and Radio as their 3rd goes in
  • backs to the wall, smash and grab, Izzy to win it on a breakaway around the 84th minute, 1-0 to us.

I think you ought to go for a lie down, Large - I'm worried about you!
  • People predicting us to lose 3 or 4 :-S

It's Leeds who have been in League One for however many years now, not Brazil.

I'm going for 2-1 Charlton. Sodje to score the winner form a header.

My short term memory is shot to pieces at the moment. It's my age. Now, who are you, again?
