  • .............the Grecian family.

    diddle le do
  • [cite]Posted By: Dave Rudd[/cite]On a separate note, how do we eradicate that woeful and highly embarrassing 'Addams Family' song? Someone must have some influence - or do we all think it's funny in a schoolboy kind of way? It was sung at Leyton Orient ffs.

Song is crap and pretty pathetic in my opinion.

But you ain't going to be able to stop it ... the more you moan, the more they will sing it to piss you off.

It's all part and parcel of following football, so live with it.
  • [cite]Posted By: DA9[/cite]My own take on it, when the equaliser went in, a couple of Norwich fans to the left at the back came running towards the meshing, one particular fat lad seemed more persistent than the others, some people around me went over there and started shouting and gesculating, I got pushed close to the divide, and I hurt my legs as my son tried to pull me out of the way and I fell over the row in front of me, police arrived and drew truncheons, which seemed to calm most people down.
Did not see anything thrown or people go across the meshing, but can only speak for what was around me, have seen 1 photo and I cant even see myself, but it looks like there was more people behind me nearer the back who were a lot closer than me.
From what I can make out, it was all hot air, Charlton fans reacting to a couple of Norwich fans taunting, but as I say, can only speak for what I saw around me.

Typical Norwich, having a pop at our Grandads

    :-)
  • If someone genuinely finds it funny hearing the same joke over and over again week-in week-out, then I recommend they buy themselves a Catherine Tate DVD.

Good idea but the BBC have pulled them off the shelves because Large has presented the BBC with a minibus full of people who have been affected by: aggressive old ladies, in your face, pikey chav school girls and blokes who are gay but pretend to not be.

    Ouch
  • Be serious guys - it's a song. If you don't like it get a prawn sandwich, roll into into little balls and pop it into your ears. Those that sing it are most definately different to yourselves in terms of age and outlook - chill.

How would you plan to "ban" it anway - perhaps at the next few games we could have a stern looking police officer hand out leaflets demanding it not be sung or better still the tannoy could play white noise every time it starts up ?

Any song beats no song as far as I am concerned.

As for the major unrest, violent conduct, riot, pitch invasion and seat throwing at the end of the game - a bit of passion is good to see.

Thats a really idiotic comment. How is violent conduct "good to see"?
  • Come on Large, some youngsters singing a song doesn't mean they approve of sexual abuse.

PeakieRocket, I take it you haven't met medders!

  • God knows. But you did not specify a number to make the act of violent conduct good to see.

The Adams family song is crap, I think it made me laugh for about 1 second 8 years ago.
  • there was more trouble by the players in the tunnel at half time.FACT!

You was in london what do you know??
  • Don't sing insensitive songs at a football match!!!

    Whatever next?

It's insensitive to drive, laughing and joking, to the Valley for a Saturday game because a couple of people, somewhere in London, are going to die in a road accident during the match.
  • Next we won't be able to sing 'let him die' when a players injured, or faking an injury. :~(

    Pass the popcorn...............
Oh, theres a good bit coming up.................
  • From what i can make of it, it seems it is something and nothing, why do we always have to create something when there is a minor scuffle at one of our games, but is blown out all of proportion,

Because we used to be regarded as a Family Club & even the Met have re-categorised our away followings from Friendly to adversarial now in the last year.

LOL bit of passion dont hurt anyone!!!!
  • Wonder how many people who object to the addams family song ever sang the wheels on the bus song, addams family is fine in my book but better when playing country bumkins or fulham... agree it loses it humor when sang at warsall and orient. Its a song aimed at the away end no harm to any charlton unless your sister is really your mother and you really are tupping one and other then I would suggest a trip to jeremy kyle would be more useful than se7.
  • The song's moronic rather than "insensitive" and I don't see anything clever or funny in encouraging little kids to sing about "fucking". Everyone is free to do as they choose within the law so it can't easily be banned, but it wouldn't do any harm for the club to take a principled position and ask people to leave it out. No doubt any such action would prompt ridicule from those concerned, but that isn't actually a reason for the club to avoid taking a lead.
  • No other song except Red Army should be being sung.

    It's a disgrace.

Red Army offences fans from Germany and the soviet block, I recommed we only sing...

Ooooooooooooooooh Lloyd Sam is on fire!!

But that may offend people with burns.

Maybe we should all go to the studio to watch jeremy kyle and then we could sing it for the whole show ;-)
  • Personally have more of a problem with 10,000 people singing 'pardew, you're a c*nt' in front of hundreds of kids in the crowd even if it is factually true !!!
  • Again, Lloyd Sam on fire may cause some kids to get the wrong idea and they could easily become arsonists.
  • wait till they hear the second line!!!

Fod, your song is an insult to heros such as red adair and fireman sam and chuck and larry who battle fires on a daily basis to keep us safe, to use the term 'on fire' is highly offensive.. and what if simon weston visted the valley as you sang that... shame on you.
